Harry Potter: The “Hogwarts Express” to Hell
A school library is supposed to be a place of learning; of quiet sober study and calm reflection. Through study our children can learn to appreciate God’s creation in all it’s glory, acquire essential skills and become wise. That is unless your child’s school has decided to stock books on satanism.
Marketed as a harmless fantasy series, the publisher describes British author J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series as being something like the popular “Narnia” books by C. S. Lewis. Many book stores stock them on the same shelves as Narnia and the thrilling “Left Behind” series.

These European books have sold in their millions. But are these books as harmless as they seem? Not if the parents and school-board in Gwinett County, Atlanta can be believed:
“I’m a true example of how Harry Potter books can open your life to witchcraft,” said Jordan Susch, an Atlanta boy who was addicted to the Harry Potter novels. “We wanted to know if spells, potions and curses worked. By the seventh grade, I was so depressed, I set a date to kill myself,”.
This may seem like an exaggeration, however after personally studying these so-called children’s books I have found them to contain dangerously adult occult themes. Themes that would hardly seem suitable for a teenage audience.
For those of you who have never had the misfortune of reading this series, allow me to present a brief synopsis:
Harry, the title-character is a trainee wizard at a British school of the occult called “Hogwarts”. Harry is a disobedient, insolent orphan who is disliked by his teachers and frequently gets in to trouble.
In each episode of the series, Harry must use his magical powers to defeat “Lord Voldermort”, an evil sorcerer who wishes to take over the whole of England by his use of the dark arts.
When faced with this powerful Evil, Harry does not pray for God’s help; In fact there is not one mention of God or Jesus Christ in the entire series of books. Instead, Harry and his magical acolytes rely on disobedience and witchcraft to defeat all of Voldermort’s plots.

In addition, as the main character grows older, the plotlines of the recent books have begun to include more sexually suggestive plots; The author wishes her readers to conclude that sexual gratification can only come through the mastery of the occult.
It’s hardly surprising that CAP Alert, the highly regarded Christian movie review site gave this movie version of one of these books the worst possible scores, and this scathing summary:
“Morally speaking, The Prisoner of Azkaban is cut with the nearly the same cookie cutter as the previous two Harry Potter films… All three are, of course, the bottom of the scoring in Offense to God. All three violate Isa 5:20 which warns of calling evil good.”
The Harry Potter books are not actually manuals of witchcraft, but they strongly suggest that any problem can be solved by casting spells.

It is a well known fact that “soft satanism” like the Harry Potter books can lead children down a slippery slope where they become more inclined to investigate other sinister practices. For this simple reason, kids find themselves dangerously addicted to these books of evil.
Is this really the sort of content we should allow our young people to read and watch? Could you live with yourself knowing that in your neighborhood, children are being driven to insanity and suicide because of this hellish book? This is something we have to fight against.
Thats why I am proud to support Laura Molloy, an Atlanta mom who is fighting the evil publishers and the school librarians who place such dangerous books in kid’s libraries.

Laura is a true American hero, a Republican and a patriots. She will not rest until this filth is banned from our tax-funded schools.
God bless you Laura.

eh its fiction dear!get a life get off your high horse and let the kids read a story, big friggin deal!
It’s a story. It is not meant to be real. It is not meant to teach anyone anything. It is just a simple story. The author is not trying to suggest that magic is real. She wrote a story, for people to read. It is a story. You are an idiot.
I’ll repeat one more time in hopes that you’ll understand. It is a story. It is no textbook that should be studied. It’s just a story.
Wow.. Tristan, thanks for that great article. I always know that there is something not quite right with that Harry Potter trash.. Now I know the facts.. God, what evil trash.
Thanks again. Take care and God bless you.
Watch your back, there are many agressive liberals out there.
Shelley
you fucking ameriKKKans are too stupid to tell the difference between a children’s book and satanism
FUCK AMERIKKKA AND YOU FUCKING BUSH LOVERS FUCK YOU
lawlz, tu the bawlz. This is great satire. Shelley, you’re the best thing to happen to the internet since Jeff K.
You’re completely right - let’s ban ’soft satanism’ from schools.
Put the hard stuff in instead.
Or just teach them that some bearded bloke who lives in the clouds waved his wand and created the world and all things on it from scratch. After spending ages designing them in his labratory/wizard’s cave of course.
Nothing witchcrafty about God. Oh no. Definitely not.
God bless you, child. We shall not rest until all the evildoers are purged from the earth.
Thank you, ShellyTheRepublican, for reminding all of us of what America is all about — entertainment! And you are the most entertaining writer in the blogosphere.
Do you sit up nights thinking this stuff up, or do you talk directly to God, like the Fearless Leader?
As a citizen of the world’s largest producer of pornography and the only nation whose leader has and is willing to countenance the use of the planets most evil weaponry I would have thought you would have more important things to protest against. Get back to your Bible and study the earlier chapters of Acts. When you understand them resume your Blog.
What you choose to deny your children is your business, but it would serve you well to realize that other people hold views that differ from yours and it would be downright Christian to peacefully allow them their opinions without trying to legislate your.
Shelley, dont let these liberals get you down, Harry Potter is a cunt and it takes someone like you to come out and wipe the shit from the eyes of these liberal shitbags.
glory be to allan
In fact Satan is an invention of the Abrahamic faiths. The Witch craft tradtion in Europe predates the introduction of Christianity by centuries. In ancient pagan culture there was no such thing as ’satan’ nor any equivalent. Paganism focussed on the cycles of nature, and spell casting, still practiced today, draws upon the energies of nature, not of evil. All pagan practioners follow a single rule of ‘harm none’. Those that digress from this are no different to those who exceed the boundries of Christianity and take it to extremes (as in the David Koreshi case).
Logically, if you believe in the anti-christ then you must also believe in Christ. That would make you a Christian, not a witch.
Please have respect for the chosen faith path of others and educate yourself properly about Witch craft practice and paganism before you spread religious hatred in this way. My faith teaches me tolerance and love. Doesn’t yours?
Brightest blessings.
Tristan & Shelley - Once again I am in your debt, thank you for opening my eyes to the evil of Harry Potter. As a British citizen I promise to dedecate my life to tracking down JK Rowling and beating her about the head with the Oxford English Dictionary until she promises to stop publishing this filth.
Shelly maybe we should ban murder/crime novels so there will be less murder? If you believe what I just said doesn’t make any since and wouldn’t stop murders then what is the point of taking H.P. off the selves. Maybe instead of fighting for stupid causes that you people think will save our children. Why don’t you ask the children how the novel/books make them feel?
?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Did you ever see kids get excited over the opening of a book before Harry Potter???? asked seventh grader Baillie Hill.
Fifth grader Jessica Grimes says the Harry Potter books are the very reason she enjoys reading. ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?The Harry Potter books have helped me and other kids with our accelerated reading goals. So, really, the books help us rather than hurt us in school,??? said Grimes.
The children matter not some self driven bitch Laura that just wants to fight for no reason. I can’t wait for the day when the old die and the young come into office (even if that time is after I die). It seems that 18 - 30 year olds are more equipped to handle issues then adults are that just want money.
Thank you Shelly for revealing glorious truth! We should wage holy war against J K Rowling and against the communists in Great Britain for bringing those sins to the worlds christian childrens. I will pray for our wonderful President George W Bush and depose its Satanic regime and bring freedom to Britain.
I’ve always wanted to get into satanism and now I finally have the manual. I had no idea it was available at my local bookstore.
Thanks Shelley for pointing me in the right direction.
Shelley
well done for publishing this. i notice those british homosexuals ae whinging but welll they might. satanism is everywhere. i remember as a cild being horriefied that care bears were being used to encourage witchycraft as well.
you know the j k in jk rowling stands for jesus killer i heard
Wow. I have to agree that this series of books are FICTION, meaning not real, fantasy, purely for enjoyment.
I, in fact, read these to my seven year old son at bedtime. I also take him to church every Sunday. People need to stop blaming the media, movies, books, etc for all the problems of our society.
If you don’t agree with the books, great, don’t read them. Ms. Rowling doesn’t need your money. But, please don’t attempt to push your beliefs on the rest of the free world.
Best,
Kim
The scariest part of your web site is the number of people who actually think you are serious—–and the number of people who sound just like you who are serious!
If there is a God, I only hope he comes here soon to save us from the faithful before they kill us all
I just came across this website. The fascination with SATANISM, WITCHCRAFT and SERIAL KILLERS is sickening.
http://www.BlairWitch-Hunt.com
This scary trend must be stopped.
I hope the government finds ways to restrict the internet in sufficient ways.
God bless,
Shelley
Yes Harry Potter is evil. Personally I think all those connected to it should be hunted down and stuck like the pigs they are.
If we were allowed to kill these scum it would perhaps reduce the numbers who tried to push this filth in future. Imagine if we’d stuck it to Larry Hagman when he was in Bewitched - would this european Satanist have dared write this trash.
It’s not too late, if you have a copy of one of these Harry Potter books take it to church with you this Sunday so that your minister can burn it and save the life of a child.
Burn the unholy scum and stick them with rightous spears. Feed their flesh to your dogs.
God bless you Tristran, and Laura Molloy too.
Always remember God is Love!
Dear Shelley,
I couldn’t agree more with you.
As a computer scientist, I also would like sufficient internet restrictions.
I dream of a world where such stupid stubborn blog wouldn’t exist. I’d like a Net that doesn’t spread hate and intolerance in the name of some almighty gods and/or nations…
But, Of course, my opinion is worthless! After all, I’m just European. And I’m pretty sure I use Linux based OS. And, oh my God, I live in Belgium (you know the ugly ahteist who set up the Big Bang theory was a Belgian Jesuit, right?).
Poor me! I hope you will pray for me a little bit.
This is when religion goes too far from your side. It’s a book, get over it!
- Squig2510 (Daniel)
Wow, between this and the “Linux” blog, I have to conclude that this must be a joke. If it is not a joke, Shelley must be the least read, most ignorant person ever to type a note on the Internet.
First, go back and actually READ the Bible…start with Matthew 7:1.
Second, change the church you belong to.
Third, go read http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst.html
Forth, shut off Fox News.
Last, and most important, DO NOT BREED.
How people have killed or been killed in the so called name of the Lord? Far more than in the name of Harry Potter.
In the Harry Potter books, magic is real (a pure fiction), and is used literally as a tool by the characters to accomplish specific ends, the same way that we use science and machinery. It is meant to draw the reader into a flavorful world of fantasy, just like the talking animals of Narnia.
The magic presented is not used by the characters to attain moral or spiritual satisfaction, and is nowhere offered as an alternative to religion. That the stories are apparently silent on religion cannot fairly be taken as an offense to any religion.
For all you who say that JK Rowling has a right to publish what she wants, you sure are not giving that same right to Shelley. You liberals can just get plain nasty when you disagree. Why don’t some of you show some scholarship when you disagree, not to mention maturity.
If we are to villify Harry Potter for supernatural and magical themes, then surely we are also to condemn such Christian standards as Tolkein’s ‘Hobbit’ and ‘Lord Of The Rings’ and Lewis’ Narnia books.
I find it interesting that the occult (take it from someone who has helped people recover from occult involvement) blends many grey shades between right and wrong and in the Harry Potter books Rowling (a member of the Scottish Reformed Church) distinctly marcates good from bad, darkness from light.
I also find it interesting that you would blithely reprint a statement from CAPalert - an organisation whose rigid Levitical application of OT Judaical law renders Harry Potter with a low score (main issue - magic) but cites Mary Poppins as a perfect 10. Surely, even your close mindedness can see the irony in such a statement.
Finally, as Christians we are callled to be not “of the world”, not “out of the world”. I have no hesitation in allowing my children to read Harry Potter as I have (hopefully) succeeded in raising them to think for themselves, be rational and obviously able to tell the difference between a fictional book where magic is used as a plot device and actual occultism.
Perhaps you should not lament the misdirection of the child who wanted to commit suicide, but lament the lack of sound parenting that lead to his unable to face reality and instead look towards a fictional book’s ‘magic’ as a means of personal empowerment.
I demand to know whether this is a joke, or if it is your own corrupt and biased view of a harmless work of fiction. If this is your actual view, then I come to another question: are you a madwoman, or simply a lost and confused entity, who inhibits truth and is forced to condemn such things that do not in any way deny the prescence of the God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit? If you are the former, then I suggest that you seek help. If you are the latter, then grow up, and stop putting to shame the Americans who are perfectly normal and well-balanced people.
C’mon, Shelly. “The thrilling “Left Behind” series”? It was alright for the first few volumes, then they started padding it with inconsequential garbage, to drag it out so they could sell more books and MAKE MORE MONEY!!! I dropped out after about volume 6. I think my wife lasted until volume 8. It just got too boring for words. They could have told the whole story in 5 volumes, and it would have been much better. But greed ruined it.
I’ve still got to read Harry Potter, though my daughter has seen to it that I’ve seen every movie.
Has any of you read a book full of tales of magic and sorcery, known to some as the Bible? Also did you know nearly all superstitions and satanic imagery were simply tools of the Catholic church as they demonised the pagans, for no other reason than it could get them more money and power. With some superstitions still having pagan roots.
In 2000 years there could be a faith based around the “miracles” performed by David Copperfield
Funny how “witchcraft” doesn’t actually work like it does in these FICTIONAL STORIES. It’s a religion [yes. the same as yours is] that loves nature and uses forces in nature to bring good things into your life. ‘Good things’ being happiness, peace to a loved one in troubled times, etc etc. Same sort of things you ask for when you pray. If you could wave a wand and suddenly make a big pile of gold appear, don’t you think perhaps there would be more people becoming witches, and being very rich while doing so? It takes dedication and faith just like any set of beliefs, and is not the same type of witchcraft that is portrayed in these FICTIONAL STORIES. Same as you, it hurts us when your religion is twisted out of proportion by those who don’t understand, won’t listen, and are poorly informed of *facts*. You should think before insulting other peoples’ way of life just because you don’t happen to like one FICTIONAL book that hints at something you may disagree with.
This is a good article for anyone who has any sort of religious beliefs.
Oh and this?
“In addition, as the main character grows older, the plotlines of the recent books have begun to include more sexually suggestive plots”
Unless you suddenly skipped from being 10 years old to a 26 year old mom of 5, I think you would already know that *gasp* as children get older and become teenagers… they start thinking about sex.
Yeah. Shocking, that.
Tristan,
what book will you read to your upcoming baby? Only the Bible? No fairy tales?
Hi Shelley,
Didn’t expect you to even touch a book written in the evil England…
I think you’ll burn in hell for this Shelly.
Wasn’t the bible enough for you??
I think God is punishing you and that all the killed soldiers in Iraq are all your fault because you touched a non biblical book..
I suggest you start reading something usefull like the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” or the declaration of independence or something like that.
And stop making me laugh!! you’re so funny :p
oh, guess what, i read the Harry Potter series, and i am just a normal person living a normal life! i am a christian, and Harry Potter hasen’t effected that in one bit, it is all about love and faith and trust, so don’t go bashing what i love, this has not effected me, or my friends’ christianity, so get over it, and get a life! i was actually depressed for a long time, so i reread HP and it just made me happier and stronger, so you can just stop! all us HP fans, we are all in this together, and no one can ever falter us and bring us down, so get a life, get real, and deal! by the way, i am a democrat, and i am 13 years old, and i will NOT be intimidated by losers like you!
from: lupinluvr93
So, you hate Harry Potter because he is european, is that it?
This has nothing to do with witchcraft, you are just a xenophobic person
Hmmm, how about if Harry went to a school of “miracles?” Why, I bet if you just replaced every mention of the word “magic” with “miracle” it would be perfectly suitable to those with a lack of being able to separate reality from fiction or those who had their imaginations surgically removed at birth.
Chritian-Friendly fiction! a superb idea!
I dont like Harry Potter either but your opinions are…well….taken to the extreme. Is it because they are european that you are like that about it? Hollywood profited greatly from Harry Potter. And its in America.
many fairy tales have witches, magic etc in their stories. It doesnt mean that they teach witchcraft. War movies that bombard American citizens are more dangerous under your logic. And they are. We have many skrewed up kids shooting their Teachers and other students at school from time to time.
Even worse we have Bush making war under the name of God!
Excuse me if this offends, but it’s my opinion and I have the right to express it.
I dearly love the HP books and have reread them all atleast once. So now what? I’m some satan worshipper who believes in magic and such? No, I’m still the same person who attends a Catholic school, believe in Christainty, and lives like normal. These books are merely works of fiction. Why so strongly disagree with them to this point? There are countless books in the world that express nearly the same themes as in the HP books.
And even in fairy tales you read to kids have similar themes, In “Little Red Riding Hood,” killing and death are involved. In “Snow White,” poisoning. And what’s the difference in the romantic themes mention in stories with princesses and princes? Do we petition to have these books taken out of libraries, the very books that probably all adults of America grew up reading?
Books are assumed to be an escape with the real world and a direction to the imagination. Atleast that’s what I was taught since little. A little ten year old is not going to be reading one of the HP books and be relating that to evil, satan, and such. They’re are going to be thinking about what happens next the plot, the world of magic Rowling created and such. I believe kids are intelligent enough to realize that this is all fiction and not real.
Ok, you want Harry to pray to God everytime he goes against an obstacle in life? Why? Thats just going to offend other religions and cultures as to why the books mention Christian faith but not others like Muslim, Jews, and others. Why not just put a big billboard sign saying “Christianity Is Better Than Everything Else!” Leave the religious arguments out if you please.
The Harry Potter books are just another book in the mass amount of literature we have. If you don’t want to read it, don’t. But everyone I believe is entitled to read whatever they want.
At the end of the day it’s still and just a fictional book for entertainment purposes; not some guide to satan worshipping all who oppose it believe it to be.
I only wonder why someone like Shelley or Tristan are not in madhouse.
I hope that majority of people is normal and do not believe this absurdities.
Shelly and Tristan, speaking as someone who is a devout christian, and has read the Harry Potter books, I would like to point out that they have made no difference to me as a person, apart from the horns growing from the top of my head.
On a more serious note, you seem to think that any sort of work of fiction which doesn’t mention god should be banned. so do you advocate the prohibition of the Narnia series, Lord of the Rings, The Wind in the Willows, and Nancy Drew. and are you also against films which show such things. should we ban the da vinci code because it might cause teenagers to become members of the illuminati and go around branding everyone?
It is society which causes the problems, not films, television and books. It is then the action of the media to use them as scapegoats when something goes wrong. After all, what is the media witout something to get overworked about, and to then drag poor, unwitting fools into taking up the cause.
This is merely a sign of the times, back in the 80s parents had Dungeon’s & Dragons to blame for their poor parenting skills. Now, after a relatively quiet 90s , Harry Potter has come with a big “Kick Me” sign on his back. Every time I hear about “book banning” I think back to the Nazi regime and I cannot help but cry. I hope Laura Molloy’s crusade against offensive books is successful, only then will you waken in the middle of the night to the screams of countless millions of souls who apparently died in vain. Hitler would be proud of the legacy he created, and you carry on.
I think harry potter is dangerous. witchcraft and all this sh*t!
I would never let my kids read this crap!
Plus he is british. PUKE!
Jeff
XDDDDD
Man, this is a joke, isn?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•t it?
I haven?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•t laughed so much in weeks. You?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•re my new laughstocking in the web, pal. Thank you for all the fun you?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•re providing the world!
PS: By the way, you?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•r right, Harry Potter is a cryptosatanist. If you have the point of view from a Salem witch hunter, of course
Maybe in the next book harry will drop to his knees and pray to God instead of casting a hex as Lord Voldemort. We never know.
>> SPOILER
Dumbledore’s death scene beats Bambi’s for tears.
I think that the Bible should be banned. More people have died becase of it than becase of Harry Potter.
Shelly, I suggest you read the books before you go around saying ‘HARRY POTTER IS SATAN REINCARNATE!!!’ The books teach us about love, choice and bravery. Nowhere does it say ‘Magic is real’ Even Rowling herself says that she does not belive in magic.
And JK stands for Joanne Katherine, not Jesus Killer.
Oh my god! This is by far one of the smartest, funniest sites out there! Congratulations! You are the Colbert Repor’ of the web.
Do you honestly believe that people take it to heart that problems can be solved by casting spells? That is a laugh. Anyone that allows themselves to believe that is a looney. If a person can’t separate fiction from reality and see a story for what it is (just a story…something completely made-up, not a plan to infiltrate malicious and “satanic” ideas into someone’s head), they may need mental help. Trust me, I feel for the kid that set a date for himself to die in 7th grade, because I was that depressed in the 7th grade as well. But if it hadn’t been disappointment that his attempt to cast spells were unsuccessful, it would have been something else, and there probably were other elements compounded with this feeling that he’d been rejected in life because he couldn’t turn it into the fantasy that he’d read about in books.
It’s not a book that makes someone a malicious and sinister person, it’s the person allowing himself to wander away from reason and not exercising self-control. Sure a book can be influential, but it’s a choice that a person makes to act on their impulses.
Ever read Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury? It’s a fictional story, but it’s based on opression and censorship, a world that’s so shaped into one state of mind, that reading fiction is a deadly crime because it makes people THINK. The punishment? Firemen come to your house and burn your books. And the person living inside, if they don’t cooperate.
So you want books that you personally don’t agree with out of libraries? What about bookstores too? I don’t believe in a LOT of things in many books, I disagree with a lot, including the Christian Bible. But that is my own personal choice, and I’m not going to try to condemn others for their beliefs. I just don’t want my choices limited because one group of people finds it offensive.
There’s a lot of stuff in the world that could be considered “evil”…but we can choose to just leave it on the shelf.
Thank you for this blog! A bit of humor is good medication against stress.
Pleaaaaaase ! Continue !
Dear Shelley,
I am 42, living in Kansas. I have great concern over my son. All he does all day is go for hikes in the woods with his very very good freind (Will). The other day i was merely mortified when ive seen him reading Rushdi. Rushdi is a book by a islamic extremist who is linked to Osama and his terrorist Djihad agaisnt our holy land!! This is outrageous! Its my god-given duty as a christian to save my son by whipping him repedetivly until he renounces even touching that satanic book! sincerely worried middle aged stuffed up bush loving bitch
I knew there was something wrong with that smarmy little brit bastard. Always playing with his wand - a clear metaphor for masturbation - and flying around on a BROOM of all things. Real men use F-18s and drop smart bombs… And they don’t constantly play with their willie.
Those brits are all trash anyway. Good thing they did what we told them with Iraq our they’d be on our list - right up there with Canada -and don’t get me going on those peace-nik Canuckastani’s. They think that just because a few of them got bumped in Afghanistan, that they are our friends. Well we know better and we are watching those godless barbarians to make sure they don’t sneak cheap Canadian liquor and prescription drugs across the border. And mad cows. Everyone knows that Mad Cows all come from Canada along with those 911 terrorists. Just ask Jerry Falwell, he knows.
this display of ignorance disgusts me.
…I came to this website for the very first time. Until now I thought that we have real problems with crazy people in our beloved Germany! But when I see what you have over there, oh my God. I have no words to express my regret..It is good that you pray soooo much and that you have all these circles one can join to pray for this nation. I think you really need it. The only thing that might help. This mental problem in some peoples heads you have to deal with is much too big to be solved by human beings. Not even Harry Potter or the antichrist would succeed in helping you. So don?t be afraid, even the evil won?t get in touch with you or people of your kind. You are lost and alone in the universe. No real contact with planet earth. Only God can help you… Pray my dear, pray…
[...] Atheist literature like the evil ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Harry Potter??? series can be found in most Blue-State libraries; It’s intent is utterly clear ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¨ to offer children and young adults a perverted vision and to corrupt them while they are still impressionable. [...]
I guess we’re soon looking at Book burnings, like they did in the good old days. Ban all books that might challenge the agenda of the fearless leader, despite the fact he was a cocaine snorting drunk who dogded the Vietnam, so that other could die in his place, so again, he could take the credit, so he could give you the FREEDOM to burn the books that you don’t like.
Hell…I don’t mind a cocaine snorting drunk…But never let him in Office as a “born again christian”, suggesting that others who has done exactly the same as he did should be severaly punished and get their lives shattered even more….
Again, congrats to the people who are showinig us what “TRUE” chrsitianity is all about…bigotry
Elessar
P.S. What’s next? Banning of Lord of the Rings? Silmarillion? A farewell to Arms? Catcher in the Rye? Fear and loathing on the Campaign trail of ‘72?
Can’t wait for a reply on that one
As we say in France, “mais expldr mais n’importe quoi, faut se faire soigner”. It basically means that you are an idiot, this article is another piece of crap and you ought to see a doctor.
Dear, dear Shelley.
This is just pathetic.
In the old days, people burned witches for being in league with Satan.
Now, when the IMAGINARY witches and wizards are GOOD, you hate them as well. All because when they face a problem, they don’t just sit down and pray. You know. sometimes, you gotta do something youself. God is a busy man, I’m sure he meant for us to be able to do things ourself.
All in all
You are talking against your faith and your own viewpoints.
You are stupid
Hey, what’s about the heavy metal and death music that degenerates our teenagers and childrens?
You must write and arcticle about this.
I like the web a lot, i’m always enter with my family.
Thanks
Get a life!!!!!!! Harry Potter is just a story and there is nothing wrong with it. I happen to love reading about Harry, Ron & Hermonie and I am a very mature 39 year old adult. This story is fantasy and has you use your imgination and I think it great for all ages. So there is nothing wrong with it being in the schools or children and adults reading it. Your just jealous that you didn’t come up with the idea yourself, so you could be a millionaire. Your a very bored house wife with nothing else to do but try to stir up trouble for a story that is loved by millions. So grow up and get a life!!!!
There are more important things to worry about in life than Harry Potter, like putting some energy into something that really needs attention, bringing our troops home from Iraq!!!
Thanks
Basically, you are an IDIOT. A funny idiot, but an idiot none the less.
Harry Potter in no way promotes Satanism. The series is all about good triumphing over evil. How do I know? I’ve read the books COUNTLESS times, and have actually listened to JRK when she talks about her books.
They are not talking about a cult. It’s a school. And, hey. They have the GIFT of magic.
As for the “sexually sugesstive plot,” I suggest you think carefully about this. We read a clean description about Harry kissing Ginny ONCE, and OMG IT’S SEX ON A PLATE all of a sudden. First of all, you overreact. Second, he’s 16. It’s about time he seriously kisses someone who isn’t crying!
Have you even heard of the first amendment? You know, the one that gives us freedom of press? You can’t exactly ban something with that little amendment.
It’s a story. So seriously, go jump off the Astronomy Tower.
Unless this is satire. Then you have suceeded in making me laugh. Because this is hilariously stupid.
mad cows. Everyone knows that Mad Cows all come from Canada along with those 911 terrorists.
Mad cows may or may not come from Canada, but what?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•s worse, a mad cow or mad fanatic Muslims/Americans like yourself????
Seriously guys, is this satire of are you for real?
Cause you made me laugh. :P
This whole interview is a crock of BS!I am a Satanist for over 15 years.I have never harmed an animal.I have a black cat that is my familiar and probebly even eats better then I do half the time.I have never drank blood, but I have known some strange vampire types that during sex cut each other willingly and drink each others blood, but no Lucas is a liar not all Satanist drink blood!I am also a libertarian that voted for Bush twice! So no we are not all left wingers either,in fact there are prominent members of my church serving in the American armed forces fighting in Iraq for your right to freedom of religion while you are returning the favor by shitting on thier freedoms. If you don’t support freedom of religion you should go to a country that doesn’t have it.I suggest kuwait they kill christians there from what I hear and all non muslims. If you ever want to interview a real Satanist here I am .I doubt if I will get a call. You people can’t handle the truth!ISN Reverend Darth Caligula
harry potter…. sure it has magic in it, but it is about one thing….love. harry potter lived through the dark lord’s curse because his mom died to protect him because she LOVES him, like almost any other mom would. albus dumbledore always tells harry LOVE is the strongest magic in the world. can’t you people see? harry potter is not evil, it is just the oppisite! it’s not about the magic that i read it, it is the EMOTION. and besides, harry is growing up, so yeah, there are a few sexual related things in it, but that is part of growing up. here are some amazing quotes from the book, that may help people like you realize that you got it wrong: “he (harry) coudl not find the words to tell them what it meant to him, to see them all ranged there, on his side. instead he smiled, waved a and in farewell, turned around, and led the way out of the station towards the sunlit street” not convincing enough? wait, there’s more ” dumbledore would be happy to know there is a little more love in the world” or even “harry, there is a mark in you that protected you that night. oh no, it is not something you can see, harry. that mark runs through your veins. it is love” the book is pure and real, and emotional, and all books have good parts and bad parts, so don’t hate HP just because you don’t understandd it…. love instead!
i have more to say! you say that he is a disobediant school boy who solves all his problems with magic? wrong. these books, have NEVER in any way, suggested that i can solve all my problems with magic! if anything, they say that love, trust, freindship, and, yes, god will help me to get along in this cruel world. believe it or not, HP actually strengthened, in many ways, my relationship with my friends and with god. and, in book five, harry is actually very ASHMED when he found out what that his father was a bully! the books actaully strengthen bonds between families, support freindship, support induviduality, and MUCH MUCH more! i could go on for hours about how wrong you are, but it would be a waste of my time, so goodbye, and go befreind umbridge, why don’t you! (umbridge is a very evil woman who woks for the ministry of magic, but goes against the truth of things, and goes against love, and much more) p.s. harry’s teachers don’t hate him, either! only snape, and that is because of something much deeper in meaning than you would actually unerstand! if you don’t email me, i will have a feeling that you never read this message, and be more upset at you ( not hate, as hermione granger put it, ‘hate’ is a strong word, another thing i learned form Harry Potter Series!)
I say we go back to throwing our wives and virgin daughters out to angry mobs to be raped. The bible is certainly a book of truth. While we are at it lets murder our children in the name of god, and have sex with angels so we can produce giants.
Christians are just plain fucking strange.
dear shelley
you should kill yourself
bands like Emperor, Immortal, Slayer, and other black and death metal bands will forever rule the world
satan will enslave your pathetic existence
[...] Harry Potter, “El expreso Howarts” al infierno [...]
This Laura person has little or no understanding of the gothic subculture, and even less of an understanding of Satanism. And she doesn’t seem to comprehend that Satanism and Gothic dress and music are not related.
just another bigot.
Errrrrrrrm. No.
America is going down the drain. Hmmm…. Here there is half of the americans complaining about Christianity and other religions… they all are trying to remove mentions of a god in school like… “under god”.
Then there is the other half. Hmmmmmm… and they all think Harry Potter is evil and JKR is trying to use the books as hand manuals for evil. They’re trying to get HP out of schools because they feel it is… “Satanistic”. Thats pathetic.
My favorite lines from the whole site appear at the bottom:
“ShelleyTheRepublican.com is not affiliated with, nor do we represent the views of the Republican Party (GOP).”
You mean even the party of Dubya, Hillbillies, and people who believe the Earth is 6000 years old find you too extreme???? Why don’t you and Ann Coulter take turns shoving the Harry Potter books up your collective asses . . . Then they would really be dirty!
I’ll only say one thing:
excuse for poor parenting skills!
‘Harry, the title-character is a trainee wizard at a British school of the occult called ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Hogwarts?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?. Harry is a disobedient, insolent orphan who is disliked by his teachers and frequently gets in to trouble.’
Hogwarts is not a school of the occult, because in the books magic is real and is a genetic gift. Not that you understand genetics because you believe that ‘God’ made you out of nothing (can anyone say magic?) and you breed with your cousins. Ooh, just like ‘Purebloods’ from the Harry Potter books. Harry isn’t disobedient and insolent unless he’s talking to someone he doesn’t like, such as Snape, Umbridge or his Uncle. And he isn’t disliked by the majority of his teachers, only Snape and Umbridge. In fact he happens to be friends with Lupin, McGonagall and Dumbledore. The trouble he gets into is rarely his fault and he doesn’t normally go looking for it.
‘When faced with this powerful Evil, Harry does not pray for God?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s help; In fact there is not one mention of God or Jesus Christ in the entire series of books. Instead, Harry and his magical acolytes rely on disobedience and witchcraft to defeat all of Voldermort?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s plots.’
There is no mention of any religion anywhere in the books. Wizards are separate from Muggles (normal people if you haven’t read the books) and so probably don’t worship any kind of god. This is because the book is written for children of all faiths and so mentioning one religion would alienate children of other religions. Relying on witchcraft to face Voldemort (please note the correct spelling) is kind of the point, seeing as they are training to be witches and wizards. Their disobedience is because Harry is the one that can kill Voldemort so he has to be the one to face him. No one else would stand a chance against him.
‘In addition, as the main character grows older, the plotlines of the recent books have begun to include more sexually suggestive plots; The author wishes her readers to conclude that sexual gratification can only come through the mastery of the occult.’
Yes there are more mentions of romance as the series goes on. Harry is getting older though, so such things are to be expected. Teenagers think of dating and sex. As for ’sexually suggestive plots’, are you sure that you’re not getting mixed up with fanwritten stories about the characters. Last time I checked the worst that happened in the books were a few kisses, and most of the time the girl was crying over he dead former boyfriend. And nice fanart there by the way. The HP books aren’t illustrated, so I know it didn’t come from them. And it mentions in the books several times that love potions and spells to force someone to do something they don’t want to do are illegal and that they can’t produce true love, only a faint copy of love.
‘The Harry Potter books are not actually manuals of witchcraft, but they strongly suggest that any problem can be solved by casting spells.’
Really? Anyone who does believe that they can practice magic like in the books needs their heads checking with a sledgehammer. In no way do the books tell you that magic is the answer to all problems. In fact Harry finds that magic can’t solve a lot of things. He can’t bring his parents back to life, he can’t stop Voldemort without some serious planning, he couldn’t save his godfather and he can’t change people’s opinions of him. Maybe you need to read the books more closely in order to see this, because to me it looks like you’ve just skimmed through it.
‘It is a well known fact that ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?soft satanism?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? like the Harry Potter books can lead children down a slippery slope where they become more inclined to investigate other sinister practices. For this simple reason, kids find themselves dangerously addicted to these books of evil.’
Uh, I’ve read all the books and I’m not a Satanist. My brother is, but he was one before he read the books so there’s no change there. And no, he doesn’t sacrifice animals or virgins or anything like that. I’ve never been tempted to try witchcraft or fly on a broom or anything like that. Same with all of the other fantasy and sci-fi books that I read. Anyone with the least bit of sanity is capable of separating fact from fiction and not copying what they see in books. The HP books actually teach children the difference between good and evil, with Harry and his friends and mentors on the side of good and his enemies, mainly Voldemort and Snape, on the side of evil
this is some bullshit, i’ll just have to sacrifice you to the prince of darkness right now *pulls out saccrificial dagger*
You can not be serious! You are stupid if you want to kill yourself over harry potter!Harry potter probbly dosn’t say about god as people from all over the world are reading it and some people don’t believe in god. you are stupid for posting that blog and you are not blessed. IDIOTS! *Yeah today i thought i’ll try a spell to kill someone and my self so i shouted Avada Kedrava and duh it worked cos its from a evil book called harry potter.* OMG YOU IDIOTS! I
Multi-lingual-Well done for explaining everything! Your post is the only one that makes sense
It does not make any sense to me!
It’s a well known fact that Harry Potter promotes drug use and satanism. All your talk does not change the facts.
Shelley
shelley, you are just retarded, since whendoes it promote drugz. Sex maybe
Sigh.. Now I love harry potter even more. You know why? Cause christians hate him. I’m no satanist, or any other weird crazy, idol worshiping person. I just hate christians. Harry Potter is a book. So it is fake and shouldnt be studied like a text book(someone said that earlyer). And if you do study it like a text book… well good luck to you. (Just between you and me Wingardium Leviosa doesnt work)
As I was reading this “article”, if I can so loosely call it, I was laughing my ass off. This is yet another example of how fucking pathetic people can be. Harry Potter is a novel. It is not a guidebook, it is not an exposee, it does not, in any way, teach things of the occult. It is a fabrication of a talented writer meant to amuse her daughter and possibly make a bit of extra pocket change. Get the fuck off of your high horse, pull the tree out of your asshole, and go back to making pot roasts or something. Oh, and for the absolute IDIOT who said that the “J.K.” in J.K. Rowling was for “Jesus Killer,” it’s time to crawl out from that rock youve been living under and smell the non-threatening Harry Potter coffee.
I Agree With Lamour.

So, if magic is satanic, then how did god create the world?
UP IN THE SKY! ITS A BIRD, ITS A PLANE, NO! ITS BIGOT MAN DEFENDER OR HIS OWN OPINIONS, HES MORE ANNYOING THEN THE LAST ONE, A BIGGER FANATIC THEN JIM JONES, AND ABLE TO THROW LIES AND SLANDER AT JUST ABOUT ANYTIHNG THAT HAS A DIFFRENT PERSPECTIVE THEN HIM!
for those of you who are to afraid to look into satanism heres a small hint about what they actually do!
DO’S AND DONT’S OF SATANISM
DO back unto others as they have done unto you
DONT KILL BABIES AND ANIMALS
DO GIVE KINDNESS TO THOSE WHO DESERVE IT
If you are walking into open territory and someone bugs you tell them to stop if they don’t destroy them
- Antone LeVay
Satanists do not worship satan despite what bigoted mis informed media or fanatics say What they recongnize as satan is the Instincts in man that of which have been looked on as ” un moral” and ” savage” such as lust, revenge, anger, and cruelty.
There is no good and evil, just those that think there is and inmply that their own opinion is always right
I bloody love this. Hilarious.
You mentioned this particular boy,
“I’m a true example of how Harry Potter books can open your life to witchcraft,” said Jordan Susch, an Atlanta boy who was addicted to the Harry Potter novels. “We wanted to know if spells, potions and curses worked. By the seventh grade, I was so depressed, I set a date to kill myself,”.
For one thing, if a person is so naïve and gullible to do something like this, then they are not mature enough to read it and it is entirely their fault for reading something they cannot handle. No one is forcing them to read this amazing book which has inspired millions of people, including Christians to read and adore. Also, if they get depressed enough to kill themselves just because a little magic is not working or whatever, then they is something clinically wrong with them, an imbalance of brain chemicals or something else which is not spurred by Harry Potter since Harry Potter is not a brain chemical that makes you do things without thinking.
How is it an occult, according to a dictionary meaning, occult means a blind devotion/religion to one being. So, even though Harry Potter and his friends follow Dumbledore, others follow Lord Voldemort, that is more than one being, and if I remember correctly, Harry Potter disagrees with a lot of things that Dumbledore has to say. If it was an occult, he would have just said, “Yes master, whatever pleases you”, etc.
Again, he does not ask for god’s help because e is not mentioned because J.K. Rowling is a very considerate person and does not wish to strike controversy but to try and make every one happy. But she is failing because some bigots just have to strike an argument about something.
Here you say,
The Harry Potter books are not actually manuals of witchcraft, but they strongly suggest that any problem can be solved by casting spells.
How do you go about proving that theory? If you have actually red the books, (which I have at least five times for each book) then you would realize that it has a lot of moral quality about how love conquers everything including evil and that was what Dumbledore has been trying to tell Harry Potter all along.
Love has nothing to do with witchcraft, and I hope I am not wrong because love is a strong and pure emotion.
No where in the book does it remark anything about Satanism which mainly is not about witchcraft, that is Wiccan which has its light (good) site and its dark (not-so-good) side. Please, before you post something like this again, do some proper research. You cannot write a thesis without proper research because there is not real argument behind it.
This is becoming ridiculous… Americans were mainly EUROPEANS… most Americans are descendants of Europeans, the only native Americans are the Indians and you took “care” of them. HYPOCRITES! Until when will God suffer our wicked ways?
