Evangelism in Iraq: Our Sacred Duty

One reason why Shelly and I spend so much time writing this blog is that it gives us the opportunity to correct some of the most outrageous liberal myths that have become ingrained into our media and culture. The republican party stands for Truth, and it’s up to all of us to correct errors as soon as they arise.
Today’s liberal myth is that the occupation of Iraq is bad for America and the Iraqis. This would seem to be an obviously bogus idea to anybody who has acquainted themselves with the threat that a pre-war Saddam, armed with WMDs posed to the USA and it’s allies in the region.
After the fall of Saddam, and the liberation of Iraq prosperity and freedom are returning to this troubled land. Iraquis overwhelmingly support the occupation that gave them the freedom they so desperately wanted, and like this man they are turning to Christ in thousands. (pic from theage.au )
Nevertheless, this particular myth is often repeated on left-wing news stations like CNN and MSNBC. Seldom to they even acknowledge the existence of American groups whose sole purpose is to spread Christ’s love to the people of Iraq.
Let me share this inspirational letter from some friends of mine at the Campus Crusade for Christ International:
“As Iraq struggles to stabilize, you can touch the very heart of Iraq by reaching its children for Christ. This opportunity has been years in the making, and now is the time to act. … Campus Crusade for Christ staff teams in Iraq have been working since the American-led liberation, reaching people there with the Gospel. They have seen a tremendous response to the Good News, but recognize the time to so boldly reach out may be short.
Our staff are currently pursuing a major effort … concentrating on reaching orphans and very poor children with Christ’s love and message.
The goal … is to distribute 100,000 gift packs to these little ones. The content varies somewhat … but each gift includes evangelistic material like a New Testament, an evangelistic activity book, and/or the JESUS film - all in Arabic. Also included will be fun treats (such as toys or candy), as well as desperately needed practical goods.
A preliminary distribution of gifts during this past Christmas was a tremendous success. A 12-year-old boy who received a gift pack shared, After I saw my dad shot dead, I thought the only way for me to live [is to form a gang] and contact somebody who can give us money and a gun. But today I noticed that there is a better way to live.”
In conclusion, we can see one of the most valuable benefits of our unavoidable activities in Iraq is the fact that more souls are being brought back to Christ. If even one innocent soul can be saved, surely all of this has been worth while.

what WMD’s?! Please show me the proof. It is common knowledge around the world that Saddam had no WMD’s and that the USA used such “phantom” weapons to justify its attack on a sovereign nation. People like you won’t be happy until EVERY country in the world thinks and acts just like you… even your own country…Well, let me tell you one thing: that is not a Democracy! What you have in mind is theocratic totalitarianism!
there were no WMD’s in iraq, the only WMD’s saddam had were supplied by the US. yes it’s true, the mass murder he’s been charged for was commited with US knowledge and resources!

If there Sadam had no WMD, what did he use to kill his own people? It sure was chemical weapons! Did he use chemical weapons in the war with Iran? YES! in Kuwait? YES! and yet the world thinks he had no WMD??? I think it’s common knowledge that he sent them to Syria when he knows that he will face justice. btw I’m not an American, excuse my English. I’m a Chinese citizen wishing for freedom.
If you’re not a Christian and haven’t really and truly accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour youu’ll never understand how wonderful it is that the U.S. invaded, occupied, and, until the Lord’s work is done there, will honorably and steadfastly continue to occupy Iraq. Yet once again, it’s the Americans that answer the calling and doing what needs to be done.

It’s clearly established that Saddam had no WMD… There’s no reason to think otherwise.
WE FOUND WMD’s, Santorum’s documents prove that 500 canisters of sarian and mustard gas were found after the war, even though they were pre-gulf war munitions, would you want them in your living room… or next to your kids? I mean… even asthetically, it just would be a tragedy.
First, it’s Shelley, not Shelly. You’re the last person to be thought of making that misstake besides the two of them. Second, give the people in Iraq something usefull they can survive with, instead of trying to convert them with Christian documents.
And about WMD’s. Sure, you found them, the WRONG ones you didn’t know of. Sheer luck, just don’t claim you’re right after all. My guess is no one even knew they were where you found them.
500 canisters of mustard gas? In Iraq? Well, I’ll believe you, but ask you this: How are they a threat to the American public? I mean, 500 canisters of deadly gas are damned tricky things to smuggle into an already paranoid country. Not the kind of thing you can swallow or cram up your ass really.
With reguards to the article, I find these missionaries very insulting and I’m sure a lot of the Iraqi citizens feel the same way.
Why didn’t he use against the US troops? Probably because he didn’t have a chance to. The Iraqi army was surrendering in divisions. He lost so fast that he didn’t have a chance to deploy the weapon. Even if he did, it would only provide clear justification and evidence for the U.S. Whatever Sadam throw at the U.S. military, it would make no difference in the end. So it would be better for him to conceal the evidence instead of publicly display it!

This is great news! But I question the wisdom of giving them toys and candy until after they have read the Bible.
