The Liberal obsession with Satire

Friends,

Will somebody explain the liberal obsession with satire? Have you noticed how liberals think pretty much everything that does not fit into their distorted world-view is some kind of satirical comment? Have liberals lost all ability to sort fact from fiction? It would appear to be so.

He pretends to be a conservative: America has grown bored of this tired act. Liberals love it because it is satirical.

So much of liberal media is plain deceptive. We all know how liberals love to politicize everything. For the liberal, everything has to be a political comment, even their comedy (if you can call it that). The current liberal hero of the day is Stephen Colbert. Remember the guy who made a fool of himself at the Presidential Press-Corps dinner some months ago.

Why do liberals love satire? It’s because they can’t handle the truth. Oh, it’s only satire, to they don’t have to. Right? They overstep their boundaries and put themselves and America in shame: Oh, I did not mean it, it was a joke, IT WAS ONLY SATIRE.

Liberals don?t seem to mind that his performance was a flop. They love him because he was disrespectful to the President and the brave men and women in our administration. Of course, it’s okay to mock the Presidency - for a liberal Satire is allways the easy way out.

Landover Baptist” is a blatently fake church site, a typically crude liberal attempt at satire. This dangerous web-page is offensive to God and should be avoided at all cost by Americans.

Of course, liberals need more satire than one man can possibly provide. They have no end of web-sites, some purporting to be news, others pretending to be a church-related site. We get no end of reader?s comments inviting us to view troll sites like ?Landover Baptist?, ?The Onion? and the absurd ?Huffington Post?. When we see comments like these we just remove them ? we conservatives speak the plain truth and that?s what our readers expect.

Some liberals readers have gone as far as to suggest that STR.com is a form of satire. It?s a typical ?troll?, a favourite pass-time of wingnut liberals who feel the need to disrupt any argument that they know they have lost. I can categorically deny that STR is intended as satire. While we do try to inject levity and humour into our serious discussions, STR.com is and will always be a home for plain-dealing conservatives.

If you haven?t noticed the liberal?s obsession with satire, I will leave you with a disturbing aspect of this obsession: Podcasting Athiest god-hater ?The Infidel Guy?, subject of a recent episode of ?Wife Swap? recently did a show called ?Is the Bible Satire?. In this offensive show another atheist called PamAlonia McCray explained her theory that the Holy Bible, God?s book of truth was intended to be a satire.

The Infidel Guy” chose his stage-name because he reject’s Christ’s teachings. Every week he produces a podcast in which he and his guests mock God, and endanger American souls. Surely the 1st Ammendment does not protect blasphemy?

Every Republican knows that the bible is God?s miraculous word ? transcribed without flaw into human language. The Bible is the ultimate truth, and the foundation upon which we make our laws and build our society. The fact that liberals think the Bible is satire goes a long way to explain their problems dealing with reality, law and logic.

And it’s precisely because the Bible is the basis of Truth, Logic and all sensible thinking, that those who reject the bible are forced to wallow in their evil lies. That ironically is why liberals are so obsessed by satire.

Yours in Christ,

Tristan J. Shuddery

    Thank you Tristan,

I’m so glad you’ve said this. I just get fed up of doing God’s work and liberals just slapping it back in my face claiming it’s satire. Just because you don’t agree that doesn’t mean we’re joking! No one tries to claim that George Bush is somehow a pretend President or something… but if I may be so bold as to compare myself to my President, I don’t think he and I are so far separated in our thinking. He’s a Christian too, after all. Gosh liberals are so stupid.

As for the idea of the Bible being a satire, that’s beyond crazy. Why would God send down His Word and then be only joking?! Let me tell you, liberals, you won’t think it’s such a funny joke when Satan is pitching you into the fires of hell!

Thank you Sam, It’s been too long since we published one of your sobering reports. I’m delighted to see your comment, remember you are doing God’s work.

It’s funny to see liberals deny the truth of the bible. Without the bible there would be no logic and science for these two gifts were both gifts from God. Athiests have no foundation on which to build their absurd arguments, so they come out with crazy stuff.

I wish my conservative friends would do something about the slanderous Wikipedia article on our site. It’s just wrong and blatently offensive. Must the liberals allways resort of unfair play when their arguments have been defeated?

Can I do that kind of generalization as well?
Are all republican women lesbians, because Cheney’s daughter is?

That is just the kind “intelligent thinking” and “real research” you’re doing in this site over and over again.

Even though you say in your disclaimer that you do not represent the view’s of the republican party. =) I thought all the republicans were truth-speaking christians who share the same views. At least that is the impression you’re giving out…

    @Tuomas:

What shelley means is that she is not an official Republican Party spokesperson. Shelley’s not pretending to speak for the party, she merely speaks for mainstream America.

As a concerned American I personally endorse Shelley’s mission to preserve our nation’s strength and morality. Thats why Shelley started this blog.

  6. bubba July 17th, 2006 7:27 am

People say the site is satire because they are giving you the “benefit of the doubt”. Most articles are so full of inaccurate information, lies, and half-truths (the Linux articles I found particularly laughable), that most people cannot believe it is meant to be real. For you to say “no this is not satire” is like saying “yes we really are narrow viewed, unintelligent red necks who don’t know anything about the subjects we write about”. I would go with the satire angle if I were you, otherwise everyone is just laughing at you.

  7. Tristan Shuddery July 17th, 2006 7:43 am

    @The Spur
We demand you shut down your offensive site. It is offensive to us. It is offensive to all Americans, and most of all it is offensive to God.

Unless you take down your site we will get our lawyer to force you to take your site down. You have been warned.

  8. Mike July 17th, 2006 7:57 am

“Unless you take down your site we will get our lawyer to force you to take your site down. You have been warned”

-Well, the rest of the world finds your website’s views offensive! Ah, the poor Shelley/Tristan team can’t face outside criticism so they are going to send in the lawyers… The fact that you insist that you aren’t writing satire and your critisms of satirists shows how ignorant and literal minded you really are. It has been said before, but your views are on par with those of the Japanese Empire before their invasion of Manchuria and Hitler before invading Poland! (i.e. “we can do no wrong, we are God’s chosen”). People like you, Shelley & Tristan are dangerous. You constrict freedoms with your actions while with the same breath saying how much you love freedom. You say you represent mainstream America? I’m from Nebraska and you don’t represent me! - People like you won’t be happy until the Democratic party is abolished and a one-system Totalitarian government is in place… When are you planning your “Night of the Long Knives”, Tristan? (sorry, you may need to ACTUALLY do SOME historical research to understand some of my references - but this may be far beyond your remit)…

I referred to this well reasoned article in Wikipedia’s talk page about Shelley the Republican. I think this should once and for all clear up their far left lies about Shelley the Republican.

Fortunately the Wikipedia entry has been properly flagged: “The factual accuracy of this article is disputed.” My modest proposal is that Wikipedia should be banned.

NOTE: I only signed up as a Wikipedia editor to counter the obvious liberal spin that exists there.

Are you sure Landover Baptist is satirical? If so, it should be banned.

  10. Tristan Shuddery July 17th, 2006 9:49 am

@Richard 23: Yes Landover Baptist is a troll site set up by well-kown liberal provocateur. It’s not a web-site I would recomend anybody to read as it makes a reprehensible attack against all Chrisitans.

  11. A Nice Hacker July 17th, 2006 11:04 am

I hate to inform you all of the truth mainstream americans are somewhere in the middle not Far Left Liberals Or Far Right Conservatives.

  12. Claude July 17th, 2006 11:22 am

    @The Spur

Personaly I think *your* site is a satire!!!! LOL!! See Tristen was right all along!!!

  13. Cole July 17th, 2006 1:24 pm

Here’s a FACT. The original greek transcript of the bible has never been found. They have, however, found over fifty early transcripts of the bible and not one of them is the same as the other. Since you are not smart, I will explain what this means. It means that this is not the word of god, adn the bible that you thump at home is not the same as the original transcript. You can deny this all you want, but you’ll just be lying to yourself.

You can’t shut down sites because you don’t like them dumbass. Get off the internet please.

  16. Bumfromkorea July 17th, 2006 4:51 pm

Hi, I’m one of the people who thought the site was a satire, considering some extremist statements made here. Now I know that this isn’t so, and I would be very interested in talking to one of you about the general subjects of modern Christianity and science, politics and religion, and the place of Christianity in the modern world, etc. Just to warn you, I’m a moderate leaning on liberal (^^ most people in college are, don’t you fret), so if that’s not to your taste, then you know, that’s fine. My email’s bumfromkorea@hotmail.com, and there’s a website bumfromkorea.blogspot.com which I worked on as a course project about a year ago. Thanks.

  17. JackG July 17th, 2006 5:17 pm

Um, if the Bible is what we base our laws on, why aren’t we stoning adulterers in the streets? Oh, that’s right. Because we aren’t illogical.

  18. Scout July 17th, 2006 5:19 pm

Oh my freakin god - you’re for real. BTW, LOVE your idiotic petition!!!

  19. Platonic Nirvana July 17th, 2006 5:35 pm

Hehe, we find ourselves in a paradox here:

If one believes that Wikipedia claims a liberal bias on the STR article, then the logical course of action would be to edit the article.

However, if one edits the article, thereby improving it in your opinion, you would be contributing to and improving Wikipedia, a construct of the Liberal masses.

Ergo, it would be your duty to improve a liberal concept, lending your strength to the Enemy and destroying others perception of you as a staunch Conservative. You would be defeating the very idea of the blog.

On one hand, you leave the article as is, allowing the liberal propaganda to infiltrate the minds of innocent students who see Wikipedia as an unbiased source. On the other hand, you go against your very core philosophy and assist the Liberals in their projects.

What to do, what to do…

the bible and religion is a way of controlling people, shelley is the perfect example of that. look how fanatic she is.

  22. Ronald Freeman July 17th, 2006 7:43 pm

But but but… P. J. O’Rourke is a satirist, isn’t he? He’s a right wing as Bush, and apart from the fact that Bush is a moron, they also have in common that they used to indulge in alcohol and dugs.

  23. JapanMan July 17th, 2006 8:03 pm

Dugs? Ronald, are you high on the pot? There are places you can go for help!

  24. floyds July 17th, 2006 10:31 pm

    Tristan,

There is another ungodly religion you should warn god-fearing Americans about: The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (http://www.venganza.org/). My daughter sports an FSM emblem on the back of her car. I kicked her out. She can come back when she scrapes it off along with that fish with feet. All scientists knowing HIS word knows the world is 6000 yrs old, the bible makes that obvious.

  25. jelly July 17th, 2006 10:59 pm

“Every Republican knows that the bible is God?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s miraculous word ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¨ transcribed without flaw into human language”

My brother, a staunch Republican, will be very surprised to hear this, since he is agnostic.

So will my sister, another staunch Republican, who is UU.

And my mom, who is Christian but not a Bible literalist.

Yanno, a political party is comprised of lots of people of very different backgrounds who happen to hold similar viewpoints on how government should be run. Politics are not synonymous with religion.

  26. Swip July 18th, 2006 3:33 am

Satire is just another form of lying. They pretend to believe something they do not really believe in, and that is LYING! You shall not lie. Our Lord Jesus must be very sad about this kind of “culture”.

  27. Ronald Freeman July 18th, 2006 9:07 am

Ooh, I did a typo, ooh, how terrible that I spend time on this site and don’t bother checking my spelling. Well, JapanMan, you slanteyed cunt (or is that a tautology?)I have you to do that for me, while I go on to do IMPORTANT stuff.

  28. Nulllogik July 18th, 2006 12:27 pm

Yes please discuss the Flying Spaghetti Monster… At least it makes an attempt to explain some things instead of basing things on “faith”

And do you know any other languages?
    Have you ever translated everything?
So much is lost in translation…

  29. Billy Bob July 18th, 2006 1:30 pm

I guess like all liberals Ron is racist. Go back to “Great” Britain and eat some fish and chips and drink some warm beer.

  30. Max July 18th, 2006 5:54 pm

Tristan, shut up and go home. If there’s a legal war started by your empty threats, your site will be the first to go down.

  31. [...] Shelley the Republican weighs in on how liberals rely on satire, thus using satire to satirize the left’s satire while simultaneously satirizing the right’s hatred of the left and poor argumentation. Thus the subject of satire is the post itself, posts like it, AND those who disagree with posts like it. [...]

  32. Ronald Freeman July 18th, 2006 7:43 pm

Hey Billy Bob, your stereotyping is 1000 times more ignorant than my alleged racism. I usually have fish and chips at a place called Livebait and normally drink a chilled Sancerre with it. Go lick your own bollocks, you inbred monobraincelled imbecile.

The “Christian Right” feels offended by the notion of the “Flying Spaghetti Monster”? Hmmm. Now you know how others feel when the “Christian Right” imposes their belief on others to the point that it even trashes the other belief. Hasn’t this “My belief is greater than your belief” caused enough violence and hate in the world, even between beliefs that are linked together by Adam and Eve.

Do you think God wanted this? Had he Christ would not have been known as the Prince of Peace, it would have been the Militant Messiah.

The “Right” on this site really have no right to call themselves Christians. The term “Baraban” as in Barabas more suits you!!

  36. office_tramp July 29th, 2006 4:11 pm

Lefty Christian, I couldn’t agree more. It’s just so sad to see people get scared of fanatical christians like shelley. SHELLEY, YOU’RE NOT LEADING ONE SINGLE ONE TO SALVATION!

  38. Danny Ditto October 29th, 2006 9:08 am

This isn’t exclusive to liberals, many political points of view can do political & social live! But I guess Shelley & her Republicrat fundamentalist cultists are to self-serious & self-righteous to understand anything that requires independent thought! They don’t investigate facts, they believe blindly whatever fits into their narrow worldview! Which means they never will discover that the King James Bible contains some correct in translation of some words! The Pilgrims didn’t have the King James Version, they said the Geneva Bible because they considered the KJV to be a “government issue” Book, therefore flawed!

Modern liberalism started with FDR. Satirist Mark Twain died years before FDR became President. Satirist Johnathan Swift a hundred years or so before that! Benjamin Franklin wrote satire over 200 years ago!Centuries old nursery rhymes like “Georgie Porgie” were satires in disguise! If satire is a liberal thing, why is it been around for centuries & why do Paleo-conservatives at http://www.batr.org do satire along with libertarians at http://www.lewrockwell.com ?
