Dear Shelley:
First, let me say how much I appreciate your website. I was not interested in politics at all before I found ShelleyTheRepublican, but now I am! I joined the Republican Party and work hard to get Republicans elected.There is one dark spot in my life though. My girlfriend Sarah is a liberal. She listens to WDOD-AM 1310 AM in Chattanooga. They bring such crap like the “Springer on the Radio” (yes, Jerry Springer) and other leftwing stuff. We have a lot of fights because of that.
I admit it, Shelley, I sometimes beat my girl. I don’t know she is just to difficult sometimes. Nothing serious, though, I just slap her around a little. The last time our f*cking neighbors called the police, we have been arrested and had to see the judge. Judge McCarren was quite a cool guy though. I told him that I love my Sarah, but she is a liberal and listens to this America-hating crap. He told me that he also has a liberal in the family and knows what it’s like.
Well to make a long story short: After I told the judge about your website and your “Adopt a liberal” program we all made a deal. I adopted my (still) liberal girlfriend! The judge said I cannot beat her up anymore but I can tell her what she can do and what not. Of course I told her right away that she could not listen to this leftwing sh*t anymore.
Thanks to you we now have a great relationship. Thanks very much!

I think you should not publish this kind of things, because a lot of women die every day in the world in the hands of their husband. She should leave him alone, because eventually he is going to keep on hitting her.
What a happy story! In a way Josh and Sarah are a microcosm of society. When we let liberalism poison our lives, bad things naturally follow. Only by purging liberal influences can things return to the way God intended.
Although I don’t think beating one’s girlfriend is the right thing to do, one should keep in mind the old adage: “spare the rod and spoil the child.”
Of course once they are married the dynamic changes.

I wasn\’t quite sure before (my esteem of most americans was pretty low). Reading this site, I was beginning to think that many americans were even sicker than I had feared. But now I am certain: this site brings the message of God\’s love in its most holy form! My faith in the world is restored, there is still hope for us!

Friend, I think you mean censor (To examine and expurgate) rather than censure (An expression of strong disapproval or harsh criticism).

I’d like to point out that the First Amendment restricts no actions whatsoever by private citizens. It just says the _government_ may not prohibit free speech. Of course, there are plenty of other laws that do apply to private citizens. I don’t know if any of those are relevant here; IANAL.

This is just sick. That girl has laws protecting her. I know this story isn’t true, because he should have gone to jail, or at least been fined.He doesn’t have the right to hurt her for any reason. Also, of the judge’s ruling was based on political views, that to is a crime for which he should be punished.
However, the girl does have rights, including the right to free speech. The only real arguement here is political correctness, and being politically incorrect isn’;t a crime, otherwise you would have been put in jail long ago.
