Athiest troublemakers not O.K. in OK

Friends,

Can somebody tell me why Athiests have to be so disruptive? Why do they have to break all the rules cause so much harm? I know a minority of STR.com readers believe that we should “live and let live” with athiests, but the simple fact is that an Athiest is nothing more than an intellectual terrorist. Some terrorists attack America using bombs and guns. Athiests attack America with their evil words and ideas.

For the the parents of kids at Hardesty School, Texas County (Not far from my own dear Tuttle City), a local athiest family is becoming a serious threat. Please read on for an example of just how much damage an athiest can cause. I am sure after reading this article you will agree that something has to be done about the Athiest problem:

Athiest troublemaker Nicole Smalkowski, yesterday. Photo by Flickr.com

It all started when Nicole Smalkowski refused to say the Lords Prayer before a basketball match. Now, pretty much every sports team I know of says a prayer before a game. It’s a sensible precaution like tying your shoolaces or buttoning your shirt. Why woiuld any patriot object to a Prayer? Who wouldnt want God on their side?

For some reason, Nicole objected and was rightfully was asked to leave the team. Who would want to risk the handicap of playing alongside a God-hater? Every sports-person knows that athiesm is for loosers.

It seems that Nicole’s family just didnt understand this, and mere hours later her father Chester ‘Chuck’ Smalkowski (also an athiest) approached the shcool’s busy principal with his complaint. According to the Principal, a long-serving member of a Baptist congregation, Mr Smalkowski verbally asulted him with a tirade of offensive God-hating obscenities. So hurtful were Smalkowski’s words that the principal was forced to physically defend himself and God’s name.

When Mr Smalkowski was ejected from the school, the Principal called the cops complaining about the serious assault. Is it reasonable that a parent could be allowed to express such hateful sentiments in another person’s place of work? It seems that this is only acceptable behavior amongst athiests!

Texas county breathed a collective sigh of relief as the troublemaker was arrested and forced to defend himself in court; however our relief was short-lived. The defendant was perfectly prepared to use every dirty-trick in the liberal playbook to evade justice. Using a technique developed by the ACLU (a liberal organisation designed to pervert the American legal system), Smalkowski’s corrupt attourney purged the jury of anybody who was not an athiest. Naturally, a biased court of athiests aquitted him.

Our problems are not yet over. These evil Christ-rejectors have swarn to avenge the school-board who were merely trying to follow God’s word. They have sworn to fight against every Christian in Texas county and have promised that they will not rest untill they have taken God completely out of the school house.

It’s time for Chrisitans, Republicans and every American to stand against this nonsense. We are a Chrisitan nation, founded on the laws of the Bible. Athiests are exploiting loopholes in the law to drive on their perverse agenda, and we must dig in to protect the most valuable thing about America: Our faith in God.

Yours in Chirst,

Tristan J. Shuddery

Oh, I just hate that ‘Nicole Smalkowski’. Just look at her! She is ugly, not only outside but inside, too! Look at her evil grin. You can just see her hate for America!

God bless you, Tristan for revealing the truth about her!

Yes, I agree. I did not take the photo myself, but I got it from a leading Conservative think tank. I personally think that liberal teens all look alike. She really does not deserve the benefit of our great education system.

A pity my previous comment wasn’t published. Perhaps evil Muslims ate it on the way to this site.

Every sports-person knows that athiesm is for loosers.

Yes, that’s why Soviet team was one from the best on every Olympic games it participated. And east Germans did pretty well, too.

  9. Maxime August 26th, 2006 6:01 am

I wouldn’t say the Lords Prayer before a game. Why ?
Because I’m atheist, and I don’t believe in God.
If I did that prayer, I’d feel like I was making fun of my Christian teammates, and not respecting their belief.

I’d feel like an hypocrit doing that, and I don’t think God likes hypocrits (if He exists).

I have already been in a church during a prayer, and what I did during that was standing up when other people stood up, sitting when they sat, and I didn’t make any sound at all, not to disturb them.

Can’t you respect other people beliefs ?

    Joel, it’s no made-up story

I hope your children are sterile.

  12. Richard 23 August 26th, 2006 6:31 am

Why do athiests feel compelled to force their lack of values onto the rest of us in this Christian nation of ours? We don’t demand that they stop worshiping trees. They in turn shouldn’t demand that we not be allowed to pray without fear of denunciation.

If the child of an athiest learns for the first time to accept Christ into her heart through exposure to prayer before a sporting event or during school prayer time, what is the harm? Another soul rescued from secular humanism and eternal damnation. Every child deserves to be saved.

I think athiest parents want to keep their children from God out of spite simply because they themselves are too bitter and angry to love God. It is a mental disorder and possibly even child neglect or abuse.

Keeping a child from God is like denying that child food and water: sustenance for living now and in the life yet to come.

    Dear Tristan,
I have to say that your articles are my daily source of fun. However as a student of English I have to say that in this one your ability to write seems to lack somehow.
It is athEIst, not athiest (come on, even if you don’t like them, you can spell them properly). I won’t list all the other spelling mistakes in order to save space for other happy comments.

Furthermore I would really appreciate it to find an article about which literature is good to save my poor German soul and which books I should avoid reading.

A poor German student who has to read about murder and incest( oh no!)

  14. shakes head August 26th, 2006 7:25 am

Oh there I was thinking after Sam’s hilarious article yesterday that the site was on the way back up and then you had to go and ruin it by letting Tristan back.

Please please can you let Sam only write the articles? We all need a good laugh everyday.

  15. G.O.D. August 26th, 2006 8:13 am

“We are a Chrisitan nation, founded on the laws of the Bible.”
I’m just laughing my ass off. I know you have some mental problems, Tristan, but I thought that at least you went to school. You’re so precious founding fathers were freemasons and the United States were designed to have a clear demarcation line between state and church. Then, if you want your children to say their prayers before games, send them to a religious private school. Schools should have no religion of its own, and I find the behaviour of the schoolboard criminal.

  16. G.O.D. August 26th, 2006 8:27 am

“Why do athiests feel compelled to force their lack of values onto the rest of us in this Christian nation of ours? We don?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥t demand that they stop worshiping trees.”

Grrr… I know this is just bait, just as I know that Richard doesn’t exist, but I cannot restrain myself…. For your information, dear non-existant character, Atheist don’t worship trees, those are Neo-Pagans or Wicca. Atheist don’t worship anything, save perhaps Reason.

“If the child of an athiest learns for the first time to accept Christ into her heart through exposure to prayer before a sporting event or during school prayer time, what is the harm? Another soul rescued from secular humanism and eternal damnation. Every child deserves to be saved.”

Try to do that somewhere in Europe and the parents will sue your ass off the planet. But even in most civil parts of the USA. Forced conversion is a crime in most countries, save a few Islamic dictatorships.

“I think athiest parents want to keep their children from God out of spite simply because they themselves are too bitter and angry to love God. It is a mental disorder and possibly even child neglect or abuse.

Keeping a child from God is like denying that child food and water: sustenance for living now and in the life yet to come.”

Yeah!! Everybody should follow me! Save for the people writing this blog. They’re stupid and offensive and they can’t write proper english…. from sentence construction to spelling… wait…. you’re just like Bushman!!! You like your president so much that you all decided to forget your school education to be like him! So much for the man-love innuendo Sam was talking abour a couple of days ago, this is way above that.

“The night of the verdict, tornados of unusual violence descended on the panhandle of Oklahoma. The home of the Principal who had brought the false charges against Chuck Smalkowski was severely damaged.”

Well, it sounds like God smote the Christian Pricipal for bearing false witness against his atheist brother (if we are all God’s children, then they would be brothers). That is the lesson and moral of THIS story.

I do not agree with most of the stuff on STR. I do however agree fully with this article.

First let me address the Euro-rats comments. I grew up in Germany and went to school there in the 70’s. I do remember that there was a cross hanging on the wall of every German classroom. I do also remember that religion was a mandatory subject and was taught 2 hours every week. School prayer was mandatory as well.

Mind you, I’m talking about public Bavarian schools not private schools. In a country where 90% of the population is Christian,
(at least by name) it is an insult to ban Christianity from institutions which are payed for by the taxes of a Christian majority.

The secularist argument is in acceptable. People who pay for the schools with their tax dollar have no say in the way those schools are run and what they teach. This is the Tyranny of the secularist’s.

As for the ACLU, ADL, JDL they are all nothing more but Zionist terrorist organizations. Their only goal is the destruction of White Christian civilization.

Why do athiests feel compelled to force their lack of values onto the rest of us in this Christian nation of ours?

That girl didn’t force anything on anyone !
She didn’t want to pray, because she is a non-believer, but she didn’t try to force anything on the others !
Since when did God allow you to lie, Richard 23 ?

And as I told before, Richard, atheists don’t worship trees, they worship Life.

It is remarkable how closely Bush’s discourse coincides with that of the false prophets of the Old Testament. While the true prophets proclaimed the sovereignty of Yahweh, the God of justice and love who judges nations and persons, the false prophets served Baal, who could be manipulated by the powerful.

About all atheists being loosers: Look at the Olympics and what the Sovetunion (yeah, that vile commies!) and the DDR (yeah, that german, vile commies!) have achieved in the olympic games they participated in!

@ Richard: Perhaps you could convert some atheists by letting them watch you pray (I doubt it!) but forcing them to pray would only strengthen their unwillingness to convert. And ateists don?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•t worship trees. They simply don?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•t worship anything.

    Make that a majority.

I thought that the American public system disallowed religion in schools. Anyways, why would a Texan school allow a Canadian game to be played by a sports team.

By the way, your spelling and grammar is atrocious.

  35. George B August 26th, 2006 10:42 pm

hey genius, atheist is not spelled athiest. it means ‘not theism’. that’s all that it means. guess what? more Christians are criminals than atheists. get your facts straight and learn how to spell. guess what? swarn is not a word either. and how can you believe in a religion that was written by men as the word of God? it is a complete paradoxical conundrum that religion will never be able to explain its way out of. how is it that people with lesser intellects preach the way of the world as fact to those of greater intelligence? It is a rather difficult question to answer. Not as difficult, however, as it would be to explain fundamentalist Christians. They believe that the bible is truth, when it has been rewritten countless times, has been proven contradictory by both historians and archaeologists, and has fragmented itself into hundreds of different denominations, or sects. How can fundamentalist Christians hate fundamentalist Muslims when they have the same mindset and worldview? Religion can be very good for people when needed, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that everyone has to think the same way about the world. And get off your pulpit when judging people as evil. Your own religion condemns judgment. So quit judging people and viewpoints you do not understand or cannot comprehend.

You just hate the poor girl because she challenges something you believe in, showing how weak your beliefs are. It took real courage for her family to stand up to all the persecution and troubles they faced by not leaving the state. Their courage should be applauded by everyone from Christians to Atheists.

  42. chuck smalkowski September 11th, 2006 9:38 pm

As with their bogus religion and their intentional mis-shaping of History, what could I really expect. Here I am on a right wing hate blog that has once again change the truth into a lie and lies into the truth. If you want the truth of what happened
it is all over the net. Just search out my name.

Fact: I turned my self in within hours of finding out there was a warrant for my arrest.I was bailed out within an hour. I never had any handcuffs put on. I did what is called a walk-thru bail.

Fact: That is not a picture of my daughter. And she will not die of aids as one god loving christian (Bill) wishes. Unlike the walking republican dead out here, my daughter was taught proper sex ed. in California. Sex Ed out here is basically do what we say not what we do. It really is a shame because many a young naive girl ends up with a big belly having to marry some jerk. Only in a few years to divorce and with limited potential and with a child marries some other jerk. I have seen this cycle over and over again. I bet Bill knows all about it. Praise the Lord.

Fact:The incident with the Principal happened days later. Not hours.

Fact: I was aquitted by a jury of christians.

Fact: ACLU of Oklahoma turn their back on my family and me. Without American Atheist I would be in Jail and most likly dead, and my family in peril!

FACT: The young lady in the photo is very pretty. But those blinded by hate see only what their hate allows them to see.

Hate and fear have always been the Christians tools.
I pity you. Will you ever awaken from your insane slumber?
I had a talk with a very bright college christian last night who was very adamant that the universe began 6000 yrs ago. He gave me a collection of psuedo-science facts. Even saying man was around with the dinosoars. I remember saying they must of had some big 12 guage rifles.
Do you understand they have no problem in shaping reality, science, physics, history to fit into their little fairy tale. It is a shame. It is dangerous.
How many wonderous discoveries have been erased due to this type of thought pattern. How many discoveries in the future will be erased?
If we keep going on as we have these last few years get ready for another dark age.
Can you really trust people who are more concerned about what happens after they are dead than when they are alive,
Who believe they can start the Rapture if they can set in motion events in the world that mirror the delusions of Revelations?

In some states Atheists cannot take the stand nor hold public office!
No one would ever vote me into office ( not even dog catcher)for I am an Atheist.
Yet who better to get things done. Atheists are Practicalists. I would have never sent our sons and daughters to war on the wings of lies. Tax cuts to the rich? Never! There would be no hunger. Right here in gods country people go behind the food store and pick out rotted food out of the dumpsters to eat. No pandering to the medical lobbyists. Health care for all. Impossible you say! I say bullshit. We spent over 300 billion in Iraq. That’s alot of heathcare and warm meals. And what about Katrina? News people can get in but the Mighty United States Military cannot? Bullshit! Something is wrong terribly wrong.
But say you talk to Jesus every night no matter if you are a total idiot and buffoon you can be voted into the president’s chair. Did someone say Nero?

Fact: There are no Gods. Just cowards that need them and madmen to lead them.
Fact: The next election is very important. VOTE!

Chuck, I can see know why the good citizens of my state demanded your arrest. You are nothing more than a terrorist, using your evil words as a bombs to shatter people’s faith in Lord Jesus.

I have a mind to call the local police and tell them that you are a recidivist, who has committed a verbal assault on all fredom loving christians. Your words alone are proof that you are an evil man.

STR.com is not a hate site. We love America and we will forever defend American values from evil Bible rejectors like you!

  44. aly September 26th, 2006 10:23 pm

My name is Aly. I reside in Arizona. I walked with “Christ” for over 30 years and taught Bible for 25year in Conservative and Fundamental Baptist Churches. It was my study of the Bible that turned me to atheism. Unlike the average Christian, who simply believes what he/she has been taught, I had to know for myself that what I was being taught was true. Thus my diligence. I finally reached the conclusion that the Bible is not inspired.

I own a business in which classes are taught in my store. The conversations sometimes will turn to religion and god. Just a few comments quickly shock the god people. I often challenge the christians to bring their bible for a bible study but upon realizing my knowledge of the Bible they quickly retreat. How sad. For the most part Christians are Biblically ignorant. And because of this very easy to deconvert.

Christians harm our country and hinder its progress. We are not a nation under god because god is merely a figment of the imagination. created in the image of man. God is not the answer, Science is the answer.

For the young lady who would not cow tow to the god folk. I’m so proud of her. What a brave courageous young lady.

  45. spindrift September 29th, 2006 10:11 am

STR.com is fantastic! I can now scratch “s” off my list for my “insane people” favorites folder. It may be hopeless to use reason with anyone sporting a Rapture Index on their site: this was probably the last person in their class to admit that Santa was just a story. Those of us who figured it out earlier just have to be patient.

I would like to express my support for those oppressed by religion. The lies of the theocrats are appauling, and living in a society shadowed by their corruption is difficult. We are deafened by their banter, which contains no reason, compassion, or civility. By the way, not that it matters, but this is not what the founding fathers had in mind.

I say it doesn’t matter because at least some of us live in the present and don’t worship dead statesmen any more than we worship Jesus, Mythra, Wotan, or trees. Many of the founders were not Christians. On the whole, our laws are not based on the bible, and if they are, there is course for redress. The system is alive and changing so when something goes wrong, like forcing children to pray or giving taxpayer money to churches, the problem can be fixed.

This is NOT a Christian nation. The Constition declares this. This nation is about freedom. Freedom for one person to go to church and for another not to. Freedom for one to pray and for another not to. To take that freedom away from others is not only illegal, it is unamerican. Stating that this is a Christian nation is no different than saying it is a white nation or a republican nation. It is something that is not true but wished for by extremists. Oppressing those who disagree with them makes them feel powerful. It is violence. The only thing keeping them from burning the rest of us at the stake is our secular law. Take that away and you have the Taliban.

We shudder when we hear in the news about some country in the Middle East implementing Islamic religious law, with its head-chopping, finger-pointing ways of fear and hatred. What’s happening in this country is moving toward the same thing, just a different religion. Luckily they have not yet attained the strength to force us into submission and take over the government, but they are trying. We need to stand up for our rights and not give in to their brow beating. We need to be vocal like they are. Most people in this country may claim Christianity as their religion, but these fanatics are only a small percentage of them.

Don’t give in, fellow Atheists! We need each other to be strong to endure these dark times and to turn them around.

By the way, I’m new to the world of republican blogs. Is there some sort of spelling/grammar boycott going on to make Bush look better?

  46. Esto December 31st, 2006 4:04 pm

If the basketball team wants to say a prayer before the game then they by all means should. If the girl does not want to pray before the game than she should not. If the people on the team are worried that an atheist on the team is going to “taint” them, then they can just pray to God not to take her non-belief out on the rest of team, that everyone plays at their best, and what the hey, they can pray that the other team has more atheists than theirs to shift fate back in their favor.

Everyone needs to end this “you’re evil–no you’re evil–no you’re evil” cycle that they seem to be stuck on, let people believe want they want, and for crying out loud *calm down*!

  47. Esto December 31st, 2006 4:19 pm

    One more thing…

If you really want to do good things for your religion you should be out volunteering with church groups to help out the community, or raise money for the troops safety or something, instead of preaching hate on the internet. That is *not cool*.

  48. Miranda January 15th, 2007 5:00 pm

I am a local reporter who covered the Smalkowski case, and a Christian. What you have wrote is so slanted and unethical, not to mention some is just entirely false, including the picture of Nicole who happens to be brunette.
And some of the comments on here wishing death and spitting hatred are so far from what God expects of his children….and you call yourself Christian, is what gets me. As I said, I am, and I have sat with Chuck and interviewed him on more than one occassion– and the teachings of God, overall to honor the Golden Rule, live by example showing his love, mercy and compassion, not to mention understanding was and is my responsibility in the matter, and yours too. We get along quite well and I enjoy his insight, even if we are different in our religious views. The Smalkowskis simply felt angered and alienated by their difference in religion to most of here in the Buckle of the Bible Belt, and this is not the 1800s and we should not relive Salem. they don’t wish to force their ideas on anyone else and vice versa. One thing is for sure, providing witness in the negative, hateful, slanted way this story and comments have is not going to win the favor of any soul, especially not the the favor of God.

Man. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if people are laying really good bait, or they’re just really, really stupid.

I kinda hope it’s not the latter, since it’s pathetic and sad how so much of the USA actually believes along similar lines to what’s written here.

To drop one into those statistics added earlier, it’s also no surprise that of the smartest 2% around, only 2% of those describe themselves to believe in religion beyond agnosticism.

Oh well. Congrats to Jen for standing up and speaking out.
Wait a minute… that caption says that’s not Jen. Hmmmm…. Nevermind.

  51. Liz B January 24th, 2007 6:43 am

How dare you preach in the name of your God words of hatred. If you had studied the bible you would know that even when offended you cover with the mantle of love and turn the other cheek. I hope you come to see the wrong in your ways and learn to honor your God in a way suitable of Him.

I am ashamed to read something like this from a person saying they are religious.

  52. Joker January 24th, 2007 10:15 am

It is funny. Spew hatred towards non-believers, then use the photo of a completly another woman. Great job, wackos

The Spanish had the right idea about 300 years ago. A new inquisition is what we need! It’ll be a quick an effective way of ridding the world of these evil devil-worshipping athiests! Once we’re finished with them lets also go after the Hindus, Muslims, Sihks, Catholics and most of all, the Scottish!

  55. Deimios January 24th, 2007 10:40 am

This is what you all misunderstand. Labeling someone as atheist or buddhist or whatever other religion they might have then proclaming them evil. Open your eyes. Your Christ loves all humans not just believers. One must not spread hate in the name of God. Do not walk the path of the crusaders who in the name of God have killed, plundered and raped. All of us have right to our opinion and religion. Noone has the right to force someone to believe in something they don’t. But since you are so fixed upon labeling everyone I choose my label: Human. I suggest you all chose this label.
Choose a label that brings together not forces us apart.
Yes I am an atheist and yes I don’t like religious folk. But that doesn’t mean I need to spread hate. We can just live together in peace until we find out which religion is right.

    Deimios

  56. Chris January 24th, 2007 10:49 am

I am an atheist from the UK.

I must say up until I found this site, I thought our country was quite backward but I can see now that we are a shining example. We are extremly tolerant of all religions.

I find it extremly saddening and more than a little alarming that a democratic country such as the US has such extremists.

The people from STR are really no better than dictators, forcing people to adopt their values. Where is the freedom in any thing that you have said?

Because I choose not to worship a god, am I to be chastised, referred to as evil and shunned?

To me a Christian is a person, who helps others to make their lives better…correct me if these are not Christian values.
I help a great many people where I live, I help elderly neighbours take out their trash, I help out with DIY jobs their sons and daughters might not be able to help with, I cut their hedges and lawns in summer for no reason except to help them out.

I don’t expect to be rewarded once I die because I helped a neighbour cut his grass, I do it because it makes me feel good knowing that I have helped a person while I am alive. I’m no good to anyone dead.

So in that respect I am more Christian than any person on STR.

I must say I am quite frightened by your narrow mindedness and your quickness to judge.

    Chris

  58. Tom Barry January 24th, 2007 11:09 am

This is a disgrace. Tristan J. Shuddery should be shunned for his words. He is proclaiming atheists are terrorists? What kind of sick joke is this, does no one think that perhaps there are reasons someone wouldn’t follow god? Or do you want to just assume that non believers are the spawn of Satan?
You know, racism extends to abusing people of other religions too. Would you call all the Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish or any other people terrorists for their beliefs?

Implied meaning or not, this disgusts me as a citizen.

    Get a grip.

  61. Pulldownyourpants January 24th, 2007 11:53 am

So when is this picture of “Athiest troublemaker Nicole Smalkowski” going to be removed from this site? Do the people here have anyone capable of making corrections where necessary? Hey, dumb asses at STR. Go here http://www.theeverywheregirl.com/ and ask her if it’s ok for you to use her photo.

  62. Warlock January 24th, 2007 1:14 pm

I came across this site by accident. After reading this “post” I can see why this country is in so much trouble.
1st This country was founded on religious FREEDOM.
2nd Who are you to judge anyone?? Are you GOD? Have you forgotten the Commandments? All you are doing is hurting the very cause you are trying to support! The real troublemaker is not that girl, but people like you that think you have the right to impose your beliefs on anyone that does not agree with you. In fact is that not what a “Radical-Islam Terrorist” does? You will convert or Die!?
You (And to a great extent everyone in this country) need to shut your mouth and live YOUR life. If you are a true believer you would know that. Take care of your soul first. Its in danger NOW. Wake up! There are MANY religions out there that support peace, but not GOD. They are not evil, they will have their own judgment.
    You are not the Judge.

  63. Anton Sherwood January 24th, 2007 2:23 pm

I may not be athiest but I’m athier than thou.

  64. Someone sane January 24th, 2007 2:28 pm

I grew up as a christian and it was never for me. I don’t call myself an atheist though as I just don’t give a damn either way.

I only see religion as a creation of men for men (for money? control? ….).

I believe in some of its virtues but at the same time I see it as a way to further seperate people.

It only serves to drive hatred between people of differing religion.

Personally, I judge people only by what they do! Not their religion, skin color or sex. I just wish we could all do the same!

    My 2 cents,

  74. Kent Hovind January 25th, 2007 4:22 am

I can’t wait for these evangelical kids to start blowing themselves up at mosques and museum exibits about geology in the name of the Lord and we see our hardened Iraq war veterans being sent on their tenth consecutive tour of duty to enforce martial law in Utah. Jesus demands your sacrifice! The time for words has ended, the time for action is now! I swear, sometimes I think good Christian Americans like yourselves don’t even want the Appocolypse to happen anymore!

If the world doesn’t end then Jesus won’t come and we won’t be sucked up in the rapture, and then we’ll have to put up with these damn pot smoking hippies with heir gay marriage and fancy shmancy high school diplomas until we all die of fatal complications arising from combining tainted McDonalds and diet pills somebody told us about on the internets. Well that ain’t happenin’ to me! Either the rapture comes to me right now or I’ma gonna go an’ blow me up some o’ them Ivy leage athiest New England trouble makers and damn well hurry the fucking thing on its way!

  75. Jason January 25th, 2007 11:05 am

Atheism doesn’t just lead to godlessness, it leads to moral turpitude. Her cowrie shell hemp necklace? That’s a code for “I smoke mairjuana, want to get high?” The hat? The manufacturer probably supports Greenpeace and the ACLU. The short hair? Obviously a dyke destined for Smith College.

Which is too bad. She is kind of cute and looks like she could suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

  76. Steve Rite January 26th, 2007 12:51 pm

Are you truly retarded? No really.. you can not even spell school properly. Also the picture is a stock photo of somebody else.
I mean really. are all Americans really this stupid.
No wonder your country is going to hell in a hand basket.

And no God ain’t gonna help you, your country is just to corrupt to be saved.

  77. Tom January 26th, 2007 12:54 pm

Tristan I think you should stop believing in your false god and join the Muslims and the only true god Allah. You see Tristan you are an Atheist as well you just don’t know any better. We welcome you with open arms and hope you say all the prayers to Allah and join us in the good fight.

    Peace through Allah.

  78. Undisclosed February 1st, 2007 6:38 pm

Tristan, I am a Christian and a member of the school you are talking about above, as well as a member of the basketball team. I would like to inform you that some of the facts of the story you have and the ones circulating on the internet are incorrect. I don’t think anyone knows the true story anymore. Also, the picture you have of her above isn’t her and she’s not “evil” or a “God-hater”. There is another side to the story that has been being left out of all the stuff on the internet. I urge everyone to please quit trashing Nicole, her family, our school, and all the people of our community. Thanks.

    Your Sister in Christ

P.S. I admire your willingness to stand up in what you believe in.

  80. Left of Larry February 13th, 2007 10:14 am

This is a lie. It is quite ironic how a god loving christian would spread hate and lies about atheists. It is people like you that give theists a bad name. Your vitriolic hate is why atheists are standing up. We are tired of your bullshit.

The picture you have up is false…and your lies about the occurences are obvious. So much for THOU SHALT NOT LIE.

All in all….you are exemplary of the hate filled xtian theocracy you are trying to drown america in.

Oh and as far as your lie about this being a christian nation, founded on biblical principals? Here is some education for you:

?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?
    –George Washington

?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?
    –Thomas Jefferson

“The Bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma.”
    –Abraham Lincoln

?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Of all religions, Christianity is without a doubt the one that should inspire tolerance most, although, up to now, the Christians have been the most intolerant of all men?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?
    –Voltaire

“I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition [Christianity] one redeeming feature. They are all alike, founded upon fables and mythologies.”
    –Thomas Jefferson

“Twenty times in the course of my late reading, have I been upon the point of breaking out, ‘This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!’”
    –John Adams

?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries.?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?
    –James Madison

“Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise.”
    –James Madison

“Strongly guarded as is the separation between Religion and Government in the Constitution of the United States, the danger of encroachment by Ecclesiastical Bodies, may be illustrated by precedents already furnished in their short history.”
    –James Madison

“I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved — the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!”
    –John Adams

“That Jesus Christ was not God is evidence from his own words.”
    –Ethan Allen

“I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of… each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all.”–Thomas Paine
(The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine, pp. 8,9 (Republished 1984, Prometheus Books, Buffalo, NY))

“And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in showing that religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.”
    –James Madison

“During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution.”–James Madison

“As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and his religion… has received various corrupting changes, and I have, with most of the present dissenters in England, some doubts as to his divinity; though it is a question I do not dogmatize upon, having never studied it, and think it needless to busy myself with it now, when I expect soon an opportunity of knowing the truth with less trouble.”–Benjamin Franklin
(Benjamin Franklin, A Biography in his Own Words, edited by Thomas Fleming, p. 404, (1972, Newsweek, New York, NY) quoting letter by BF to Exra Stiles March 9, 1970.)

“The Christian priesthood, finding the doctrines of Christ leveled to every understanding and too plain to need explanation, saw, in the mysticisms of Plato, materials with which they might build up an artificial system which might, from its indistinctness, admit everlasting controversy, give employment for their order, and introduce it to profit, power, and pre-eminence. The doctrines which flowed from the lips of Jesus himself are within the comprehension of a child; but thousands of volumes have not yet explained the Platonisms engrafted on them: and for this obvious reason that nonsense can never be explained.”–Thomas Jefferson
(Thomas Jefferson, an Intimate History by Fawn M. Brodie, p. 453 (1974, W.W) Norton and Co. Inc. New York, NY) Quoting a letter by TJ to Alexander Smyth Jan 17, 1825, and Thomas Jefferson, Passionate Pilgrim by Alf Mapp Jr., pp. 246 (1991, Madison Books, Lanham, MD) quoting letter by TJ to John Adams, July 5, 1814.)

“[...] denominated a Deist, the reality of which I never disputed, being conscious that I am no Christian.”–Ethan Allen
(Religion of the American Enlightenment by G. Adolph Koch, p. 40 (1968, Thomas Crowell Co., New York, NY.) quoting preface and p. 352 of Reason, the Only Oracle of Man and A Sense of History compiled by American Heritage Press Inc., p. 103 (1985, American Heritage Press, Inc., New York, NY.))

“What influence, in fact, have ecclesiastical establishments had on society? In some instances they have been seen to erect a spiritual tyranny on the ruins of the civil authority; on many instances they have been seen upholding the thrones of political tyranny; in no instance have they been the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wish to subvert the public liberty may have found an established clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate it, needs them not.”
    –James Madison

“No man on Earth has less taste or talent for criticism than myself, and the least and last of all should I undertake to criticize works on the Apocalypse (Revelations). It was between fifty and sixty years since I read it and then I considered it as merely the ravings of a maniac, no more worthy, nor capable of explanation than the incoherence of our own nightly dreams.”
    –Thomas Jefferson

“The Christian god can be easily pictured as virtually the same as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of the people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites.”
    –Thomas Jefferson

  81. Michael Di Ricco February 18th, 2007 6:13 am

You people are hilarious. It is awful hypocritical of you to say how you are “true christians” while you spew so much hate. I thought your imaginary god in the sky taught love and compassion for all. This doesn’t surprise me. The christian right stands for the exact opposite of what Jesus preached. This nation might be made up of a lot of christians but it certainly isn’t a “Christian Nation” that abides by your christian laws. Believe it or not, the founding fathers wrote our constitution to protect the right to religion but also to protect the government from religion. This is why we have a separation of church and state so the crazy zealots like yourselves don’t ruin the country and our liberty. yours rationally, Mike

I must say the level of Ignorance I here from the (what seem to be strict fundamentalists) on this site is quite disturbing and should be left in the South were it was created. How are you so convinced of your own beliefs?
because you read a book (bibli)? and raised from childhood to believe in whatever religion it is you believe?-So you call that Faith. You know the Earth isn’t flat, and the Earth isn’t the center of the Universe. I’m not quite an Atheist myself. I live a “pascal wager” type of life(basically I live my life in a good way and hope that if there is a God I will be) saved. The reason I believe this is the knowledge I have learned mainly about History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy through out my life. I don’t agree that Atheists including myself should try to convince others of our beliefs, it is much easier to believe in a God-trust me. I believe that a belief in a God is just as important to a child as food. I believe that the process to becoming athiest should be a personal process, not a countries mandate. Granted religion has caused our two towers to collapse, and a couple of crusades to occur. We better off as a world as a whole to have a belief in God. Ignorance is blitz, and we athiest should let it be and keep our beliefs to ourselves.

wow thats a lot of typing. I hope you take the time to read and respond, thanyou.

Wow. This crazy b*tch belongs in the Dark Ages, not the Information Age. I guess Jesus was really pulling for Chuck to win in that courtroom though…

  84. Sandra April 13th, 2007 3:12 pm

Not all athiests are bad, and I don’t believe that story. Its a principle’s story against a fathers - there is no physical evidence that he had to PHYSICALLY defend himself.

That father cared for his daughter, and was smart. I’m sure he wouldn’t do something like that. I’m an athiest, and I know that I’d never do that as a father, and as a friend of some very religios people.

  85. Bob April 24th, 2007 2:00 pm

This is a very clear cut case of religious nut-jobs attempting to foist their views on students in a PUBLIC school. They even offered to drop all charges if the family would just leave the state. It’s abhorrent, what the school tried to do, and I’m glad that right prevailed.

  86. alyssa May 8th, 2007 10:52 pm

oh my gosh! that picture isnt even of the real nicole. i know her, and that is def. not her!!! i am so appolled by your statement! everybody has the right to freedom of speech, and the right to do what one wants! its a free country! just because she chose not to say the prayer is no reason to kick her off the team! that is so not fair! and i really do not like the comments people are leaving, you have no right to judge her! you dont even know her!

  87. Neil May 12th, 2007 11:37 am

It is so stunning to see this mob mentality in action. It is amazing that you dullards have missed the fact that freedom means the right to be and think differently from one another - but when you say Freedom you mean the freedom to be like you. Not real freedom. If this were the middle ages, you lunatics would be burning people at the stake and exhibiting all manner of cruelties - like you do verbally with Nicole. You have perfected the art of telling yourselves one story and one story only - and you have created demons that galvanize you - the liberal, the terrorist, the atheist. You people are cruel, shameful, accusatory, hateful, mean, like a dirty mob spitting curses at those who disagree with you. This Nicole girl is a hero - because she stands up for what she believes despite a great personal toll it has taken on her. I’m proud of this amazing young, promising American girl.

(Do any of you guys remember bible quotes like “let he who is without sin cast the first stone?” “Or Judge not lest ye be judged yourself” or “Thou Shalt Not Kill”)

Take a good hard look at yourselves before you cast the stone.

  88. faptar May 13th, 2007 1:32 am

First and foremost I would like to thank you for showing your complete and total ignorance to the founding of our great nation. You have made my job quite a bit easier. The United States contrary to your delusional beliefs as not a Christian nation, as proof I cite the 1796(77) Treaty with Tripoli “As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.” This quote is in no way taken out of context. It was drafted under Washington, but ratified under Adams. I don??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢t think we have to argue that both George Washington and John Adams were not only patriots, but levelheaded Americans. If you wish I can present to you several more examples from the constitution, to the pledge of allegiance, and even our currency among other valid sources.

Did you know we both belong to the same club? That club is the United States of America. In this club we pay dues (taxes), and in return our government provides free services (public schools). Now our club has a handbook (the constitution) in that handbook it says we like to keep the church separate from the government. Now if Mrs. Smalkowski was going to a private school, this would be a different story, they could kick her out for that reason. Because she??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s not well it violates her constitutionally protected rights.

The last thing I would like to touch on- Christ. While I am an Atheist, I have read not only the new and Old Testament, but many other religious texts as well. Christ as depicted in the bible was accepting and open to all people, of all points of view, color, and race. Now you claim to follow his teachings, but how can you? You sit here on your soapbox vomiting out litanies of hate. You act as constant demagogue for the elimination of conflicting beliefs, in the name of someone that is depicted so pure and accepting. It is shameful you can take such good ideas, and then pervert them with a belief structure that contradicts them.

Now I leave you in your tent of hate with a quote from quite possibly the Greatest American Presidents ??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®??ɬ¨I do not find in orthodox Christianity
one redeeming feature. The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as his Father, in the womb of a virgin will be classified with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter.??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?Ǭ¨?ɬ? ??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? You can’t be serious. Really. The lack of critical thought that permeates the chicken scratch on this site is a little unsettling. You, as much as you’d like to think, do not understand, nor do you think.

  90. Lee May 13th, 2007 1:50 am

And that photo is NOT NOT NOT Nicole Smalkowski. It is a canned model shot.

  91. Big Gav May 13th, 2007 1:55 am

    :-)

For a little while I thought this was serious but after a while the constant mis-spelling of “athiest” made me start laughing uncontrollably.

I imagine there are some people out there who actually think like this but I doubt any of them are capable of operating a computer…

  92. JUMMY May 13th, 2007 2:04 am

you know what the most infuriating thing about conservatives is? when they write a satirical blog in a progressive voice, conservatives are smart enough not to hammer out outraged responses as if it’s the real thing.

    DAMN YOU ROOOOOOVE!!!!

  93. vicki mcmann May 13th, 2007 8:13 pm

Your article is extremely hateful for someone saying believing in God makes you a better person compared to someone who doesn’t. It is very sad how you and others have treated this young girl. Her beliefs come from her parents beliefs as your beliefs come from your parents. The only reason you believe in God is because you were taught to believe as a little girl. You believe and respect those who you love. I wasn’t forced down with religion as so many are, but my mom believed, but on my own I never understood the belief and have no religion. I’m NOT an evil person. In fact, I go out of my way and have given up my own happiness to help others regardless of the persons beliefs. I do not look down on others as if they are ignorant, evil or anything if they have belief in some God, which by the way there are several different religions and several different faiths in different Gods, so by you saying Nichole is evil or a trouble maker is saying the same to those who don’t believe in the same God you believe in.

It makes me very sad to see how people have isolated this young girl just because she didn’t feel comfortable saying a prayer, and given that we are all raised differently, her father was right to go to the school because religion does not belong in school. the kids can say prayers to themselves before the game and still have their faith with them without forcing their beliefs on others. This girl Nichole seems very talented and now she can’t use those talents to get scholarships and be with her peers and her friends (well the friends she used to have before all the grown-ups got involved and told their children that Nichole is evil). sooo sad. she’s only a teen and this will definitely have an effect on her throughout her life. This is why people end up with mental problems and have drug problems later on when people call others names because they aren’t like you. Open up your mind and your heart and be an adult and reach out to this girl. Not with your religion because you already know she’s not religious. don’t try to convert someone if they aren’t trying to force you to not believe. respect others for what they believe, especially if they are good people, which Nichole appears to be. don’t isolate her into hating others, which is exactly what you guys in the town have done. I just wish someone there was strong enough to reach out to her and say, “hey, it’s ok if you don’t believe, we can still be friends. I respect who you are and enjoying hanging out, playing ball, etc.” it’s not necessary to hang out and discuss beliefs in God at that age, especially when you already know someone doesn’t believe. Be kind to others just like your God asks. Please try to make the world a better place instead of hating so much just because someone doesnt’ look and act like you. that’s all I ask.

  94. John Metropolis May 14th, 2007 2:40 pm

“the simple fact is that an Athiest is nothing more than an intellectual terrorist.”

I think what you meant to say is that an Atheist is sane, and capable of formulating their views based on logic and reason, unlike yourself. Of course you couldn’t say that because you’ve been brainwashed since a young age, and you don’t think for yourself, in fear of that ominous eye in the sky.

What’s wrong Tristan? Mommy doesn’t want the big kids at school to tell her blissfully ignorant little babies that Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy aren’t real?

You’re the intellectual terrorist. You’re attempting to condemn your kids to a life time of ignorant obedience to something that doesn’t even exist. Maybe if their smart enough, at some point they will realize you are full of shit, but unfortunately for them, it seems, at least from a genetic standpoint, that is very unlikely to happen.

“Oh, I just hate that ??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?ɂǨ?ɬ?Nicole Smalkowski??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢. Just look at her! She is ugly, not only outside but inside, too! Look at her evil grin. You can just see her hate for America!”

Shelly, are you blind? Nicole is HOT, and that??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s called a smile, not an evil grin.

  95. Matt G May 14th, 2007 2:48 pm

Wow, I bet if Jesus was here, he’d want her to be hanged in public. In fact, I’m sure he’d want all atheists to be hanged, and their children sold into slavery for good Christion folk! I bet he’d want everyone who didn’t worship him to suffer for eternity… Oh wait, that sounds like what Satan would want… hmm seems a lot of Christians these days have the two confused…

  96. Atheist May 14th, 2007 3:37 pm

    ok, here we go.

Quote”Now, pretty much every sports team I know of says a prayer before a game. It??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s a sensible precaution like tying your shoolaces or buttoning your shirt.” bollox, its a load of words, not a shoelace u twonk. not every1 has do do everything, but seeing as we dont all believe in all forms of religeon we’r all going to hell anyway. might be nice an warm in there anyway.

Quote”Who wouldnt want God on their side?” if every1 had “god” on their side then no1 would win, coz we all know that god makes u pwn the shit out of every1, not the players themselfs.

Quote”Mr Smalkowski verbally asulted him with a tirade of offensive God-hating obscenities. So hurtful were Smalkowski??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s words that the principal was forced to physically defend himself and God??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s name.” what words, show us, or dont u have proof? and “principal was forced to physically defend” u mean he kicked the shit out of the guy for some words??

Quote”Is it reasonable that a parent could be allowed to express such hateful sentiments in another person??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s place of work? It seems that this is only acceptable behavior amongst athiests!” every1 gets angry, but theres no reason to call the police if 1 guy is swearing at you because u kicked his doughter out of a team because she didnt say 1 thing.

this 1 cracked me up Quote”These evil Christ-rejectors have swarn to avenge the school-board who were merely trying to follow God??Ǭ¢?¢‚Ǩ?°?ɂİ?Ǭ®?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äò?Ǭ¢s word”, we’r not evil Christ-rejectors we just dont believe in your religion, i thought u wer supposed to “love thy nabor” al all that, seems u dont give a monkeys, thats not very jesus-like.

Quote”Athiests are exploiting loopholes in the law to drive on their perverse agenda, and we must dig in to protect the most valuable thing about America: Our faith in God.” ye, we are satan worshiping deamons looking for loopholes(

  97. Gastronom May 18th, 2007 1:34 pm

Ok for all of you Christians out there dissin this woman or actually dissing us Atheists’ Go find yourself in a 2k year old book, believe all the old tales that your grandmother told you and understand when I say, we as atheist’s aren’t afraid or have lack of love nor do we have a brain problem. It is very simple, you see the light, we do not and if we did see the light it would simply be the last glimpses of life excaping your dieing corpse.
I know I know and so what, I was a christian and studied in various denominations yet somehow when I became enlightened I decided, not a tumor or the devil, I decided for myself that what I had been taught for years simply is not correct and instead came from a corupt system that is ment to keep the masses of people in fear so to control them.

I don’t down you for your beliefs no matter how wrong you are so keep your christian, I’m gonna save everyone whether they like it or not, thoughts to your selves, sheesh.

  98. Brian Bohn May 18th, 2007 5:51 pm

I really hope you people aren’t this dumb. I hope that this is a comedic thing between friends posted as a joke.
Why should someone be forced to pray? Why did she have to be kicked from the team because she would not pray? The trouble started when she was kicked from the team, not when she refused to pray. It was the coach’s fault that there were problems, not this “evil” girl, who to me looks like any normal female teenage human being.
Her father was trying to keep her from being looked down upon by her classmates, he was defending her honor, and what he did, I find no problem with. This is mostly because I also believe that the principal is stretching the truth to the extreme. I’m sure the father went in, angry, yes, but not immediately cursing God and Jesus and the Holy Ghost, but angry, and I’m sure his voice was raised as he demanded retribution. The principal was most likely being irrational, already deciding to do nothing to get the girl back onto the team, which I’m sure by then the girl didn’t want. Who would want on a team full of people who hate someone who is so slightly different that the only thing that sets her apart from all the others is that she won’t pray? I sure wouldn’t.
Saying that the principal had to defend himself physically from a verbal onslaught is pretty foolish. And making it all happen at the school is more foolish. If the man is saying that, he’s a liar. I read the article about this - her, her father, and her mother went to the residence of the principal to try to talk things out. The principal struck out at her father, who blocked the blow, but both of them fell. That is how the man got his injuries, not by assault. The man later lied under oath. He committed perjury for his own wants. The person acting the most anti-Christian was the principal himself.
If you do not like what I have said here, please feel free to E-mail me. I’d love to hear anything you have to say on any of what I have said. It’s all what I see as the truth. bohn.c.brian@gmail.com

  99. crusadr4jesus May 18th, 2007 9:47 pm

Had someone in this girls family had instilled some Christian values in her and took her to church, this wold never have happened. She’d understand that a pre game prayer and asking Jesus to protect us from harm or foul while playing in a sporting event is a fundamental custom to Americans. If our fore fathers of this great (Christian) nation didn’t want kids to pray in school or whatever, they would have put it in the Constitution.

This why I firmly believe that we (Christians) should begin a new crusade. The atheists, and muslums are destroying our country with their hate and garbage they are filling our kids heads with and the liberals want everyone to be gay.

We Christians need to stand together and fight back. Before we know it, this nation will be godless and full of nothing but heathens that want to spread their disease of hate to the world.

  100. Steffan May 21st, 2007 7:51 pm

    Before you read:

I’m Christian, but let me tell you, Christ did not teach discrimination or condemnation, but he taught tolerance and equality.

He said whoever is without sin, cast the first stone. How dare you discriminate against anyone for their beliefs, ethics, culture, or religion and then call yourself a follower of Christ!

Also note: I support separation of church from state, not only Christianity for state. What if the school she went to was a satan worshipping cult? Would you then want her to take part in prayer? You wouldn’t, so now you’ve exposed yourself as a hypocrite.

***”It all started when Nicole Smalkowski refused to say the Lords Prayer before a basketball match. Now, pretty much every sports team I know of says a prayer before a game. It?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s a sensible precaution like tying your shoolaces or buttoning your shirt. Why woiuld any patriot object to a Prayer? Who wouldnt want God on their side?”***

For one, an athiest doesn’t believe in God. Two, thanks (not sarcasm) to separation of Church and State, she doesn’t have to take part in religious practice if she doesn’t want to. She’s not a believer, so it’s only fair that she doesn’t have to take part in this practice.

***”Can somebody tell me why Athiests have to be so disruptive? Why do they have to break all the rules cause so much harm? I know a minority of STR.com readers believe that we should ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?live and let live?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? with athiests, but the simple fact is that an Athiest is nothing more than an intellectual terrorist. Some terrorists attack America using bombs and guns. Athiests attack America with their evil words and ideas.”***

Wow, you are a nazi of sorts. Not every word that Athiests say is evil, they don’t believe in the supernatural or satan. Also,

ETHICS AND MORALS (THAT ARE GOOD) DO NOT NECESSARILY COME FROM RELIGION. ABSTINENCE, RESISTANCE TO CRIME, RESISTANCE TO LYING, ANTI-ADULTERY, DOES NOT HAVE TO COME FROM A BELIEF IN A RELIGION, BUT THE PERSON’S CHOICE AND DECISION.

***”For some reason, Nicole objected and was rightfully was asked to leave the team. Who would want to risk the handicap of playing alongside a God-hater? Every sports-person knows that athiesm is for loosers.”***

    Note:

ATHIESTS DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD. STUPID. also, how is God a handicap? If we lose, it would really be God training us for life. If we win, it’s still life training.

    video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD0Q-VkARl8

***”It seems that this is only acceptable behavior amongst athiests!”***

So you’re judging/assuming/infering that if someone is Athiest, that they act that way? Wrong. Since Athiests don’t believe in God, or follow a religion, ethics and morals can vary, depending on certain variables (how they are raised, where they live, ect). You, sir, are a noob.

***”We are a Chrisitan nation, founded on the laws of the Bible.”***

Evidence and reasoning, please? Founding fathers were *ahem* deists and freemasons. Freemasons=somewhat satanic.

By this terrible essay, or opinion paper,

i’m assuming you’re a 13yr old kid who has yet to learn tolerance.

  101. Kujata May 21st, 2007 8:46 pm

You state that the idea of seperation in school and state is a perversion in the constitution, and it appears you wish to reject the idea all together. To reject one part of the law is to reject all of it. The laws are there to protect people, and not just your ideal religion. I live in a state of LDS personel, and if you began to speak the way you have about those believing in something different than yourself, a good portion of them would have you suspended, or possibly expelled. Being a different religion as them has made some of my time troublesome because of their beliefs. But the fact that they have not ever tried to force their religion on me like you are trying to do to others shows that they are more intuned with their religion and do not feel this overwhelming fear that they need to slander others to try and make themselves feel better.

You claim that they are terrorists, who are they striking terror in? Apparently not you, since you seem to believe you have to post these hateful and generalizing comments. You state that they are losers and other foul and degrading things, yet they are the terrorists? I fail to see how they are the ones that will be “the Christian Nation’s” downfall.

Another point, to your rather obnoxious post, is your idea on America being solely a “Christian Nation.” Are you implying that you do not accept other religions that are as well established and plausable as your own?

Did not Christ die for our sins, not a single religion but everyone as a whole? Does God and Christ not explain that one should love their neighbor? Does that mean only the neighbors who happen to be your religion or any neighbor, any person?

Does the constitution not state that all men are created equally? Does that go with all religions as well, or are you ethnocentric in the idea that you believe your religion is the only one acceptable?

Can you still support God or as a patriot (for those that don’t believe in Him) by accepting those that don’t believe in what you believe or because you are different you are no better than Satan or the mangy flea ridden beasts wandering in any forest? Can you not accept that people are different and deserve just as many rights as you do, as any one does? Or have you become so blind you cannot accept what America was, and will always be?

America is the land of the free, stated so many times by differnt people. It is where hope and new beginnings thrive. It is where people can be safe, where people can raise their children, be it under god or not.

I am a believer of God, but that doesn’t mean that I have to forsake human decency to be a believer.

    -Sage-

    Great Website!

  105. Ronan June 25th, 2007 6:01 pm

The bigotry here is a perfect example why secular societies managed to finally develop, at least in the west. It would seem that the good folks in Oklahoma have more in common with the women stoning, hand chopping, gay beheading Taliban than with me. You must want the Psycho god from the good old days of the Old Testament around as opposed to the new and improved Prozac god of the New Testament.

This young lady is a hero, standing up for the freedom that so many of your countrymen have died for over the generations. You troglodytes should be ashamed!

  106. bitchfuck December 9th, 2007 12:09 pm

this isn’t a christian or republican blog … it’s just fucking stupid! But good for a laugh. here I go -ahahahaha!
I think she’s a very lovely young lady. You folks are just haters. read your bible instead of listening to someone tell you what it says. You might be shocked that you and jesus aren’t exactly compatible. But why start now, right? No, you continue to do what you’ve been doing, ‘christian’. Thanks for putting a smile on my face though.

  107. Emily January 30th, 2008 10:13 pm

I think you are making a very awful generalization. All Atheist are not trouble makers, and you are definitely not acting as a Christian. Also, not all Atheist are “god-haters.” I am an Atheist and my step-father is actually a Methodist Pastor. I do not hate any God or any other beliefs. Most Atheist choose to defend themselves this way because their beliefs should be as accounted for as every other religion. Atheism is a religion.

I am so disappointed that I only fell upon this comedy pearl so late.
btw, I am an agnostic (spelling A G N O S T I C) which of course comes from gnosis with privative alpha…but of course you’d know that…like A-THEIST…OMG you cannot be for real
of all the random ignorant freaks that come here in rome you’d be the funniest. but of course from your lack of culture, openmindness and intelligence you probably hardy ever left your beloved freaky ignorant boundaries…

You’re insane. Christianity is ONE religion, and you want to enforce it on everyone?! It’s religion it’s NOT fact! This poor girl was bullied and taken away her right to choose to believe what she wants. She was abused by religious fanatics like yourself. You’re just like Osama Bin Laden, you want to brainwash everyone into believing in your ONE religion, that is by no means any more realistic or plauseble than all the other religions.
