Get to know the STR crew : 1 : Shelley Goodman
Dear STR Readers:
I am sure you all would like to know more about the great Authors of this website. That is why I came up with the idea of starting this interview series. I hope you enjoy it.
Barbara: Shelley, first of all, thank you for agreeing to this interview.
Shelley: My pleasure Barbara.
Barbara: Shelley, what made you start your website, ShelleyTheRepublican.com?
Shelley: I just felt I had to do something for America. You know I have been a political activist since I was a teenager, but now I have to take care of my family and the website is a great way of combining my love for my family with my love for my country.
Barbara: ShelleyTheRepublican.com is quite a sucess with over one million visitors a year and over 700 articles online. How has this huge success changed your life?
Shelley: Most people in my life know what I do and most of them are very supportive and congratulate me on my success, but of course there are some liberal democ-rats here in Iowa City that really hate me intensely. I received several death threats from militant gay groups and the so called “Democrats for Clinton” group. The FBI is investigating the worst series of death threats from a guy called ‘Armando Liberius’ from San Francisco. This guy even sent me a severed dog head in the mail! My youngest daughter Emily openend the package. She has nightmares ever since.
Barbara: How do you deal with this huge amount of hate from the liberals?
Shelley: It is hard but I feel I have to go on for the good of America. If I stop doing what I do best then they have won. I can not let that happen.
Barbara: How do you find the time to write this huge amount of articles? I am a STR writer myself but I barely have the time to write one article a month.
Shelley: I have a strict discipline and timetable for every day of the week. After I took care of my husband and my two darlings I sit down every night for about 2 to 3 hours to answer mails and write articles. I could not do it alone though. To be honest I was close to giving up before my friend Tristan Shuddery came along and helped me out a lot. Over time I got more immensely great writers for STR: Sam, Michael, Kenny and Billy-Bob with his “Briefly Patriotic” series. Every one of these guys is a genius and a great American hero. I own them a lot. Let me also take this chance and thank my webmaster, Steve Klyne, of xooxs.com. He keeps the website going from the purely technical side.
Barbara: What are you plans for the future?
Shelley: I want to see my children grow up to be great Republicans. Maybe I am am lucky one of my kids will sign up for military service. That would make me so proud! I will also continue to maintain my website. You can rely on at least 300 new articles every year for many years to come. I think STR.com can really make a difference and influence the American political landscape.
Barbara: We have elections coming up next month. What do you think? Who is going to win?
Shelley: No question about that. There will not only be another two Republican years but many many more after that. I am convinced that our next president will be Jeb Bush or Bill Frist.

Shelley, I feel blessed by God that He brought us together! I am always humbled by the amount of work you get done AND raising kids that any parent would be proud to have (except, of course, for Liberals who can’t stand polite children who call you Ma’am or Sir and hush up when the adults are talking).
As to her attractiveness, she is a well-kept woman (not a “girl” like most of ‘em are on this site). Maybe if all you Liberals would take a bath once in a while, comb your hair and wear clothing without holes, you could be as pretty as Shelley!

Another problem with the picture… Remember a while back when you posted a letter from your sister? That included a picture? Your sister had lighter hair (red or blond, I can’t remember), no chin, and poofy curls. Either that wasn’t your sister, or this isn’t you. My money is on the latter.
Oh please. So my sister is overweight and we don’t have the same hair color. What to hell does that prove? I don’t look so much like on the photo today. I gaines some weight and I wear different glases. This was 10 years ago folks. Barbara got this old pictures on her computer and she posted it. So what?

I’m a not long time reader of your blog (since last summer if I recall correctly) and read it, if not daily, weekly now. I think I’ve read most of your posts on the website and I just want to thank you for doing all this work for us.
One of the reasons I’m posting now is that actually to make a complaint, not aimed at you or any of your guestwriters personally, but on the weblayout. I prefer the old one as it was easier to navigate.
