The liberal war on God in our childrens’ Schools

Friends,

There are some Americans who are prepared to fight for our traditions. These brave patriots are the few who dare to stand up for Jesus. These people denounce that which is sinful, and strive for what is right. We call these people Culture Warriors, because we are fighting a very real war against an encroaching tide of liberalism.

Not so long ago, Sam reported on the concerned parents of Fisher Elementary School, Dallas, TX. Their children were being exposed to obscene nudity on an art trip organized by ultra-liberal teacher Sydney McGee.

The parents worked together to get the liberal-arts teacher fired, so she could no longer harm their kids. What better example of parent power do you need? This is proof that the culture war starts at home, and that when we act as one we can make a real difference.

Last year we profiled the good work of Laura Molloy, the Atlanta mom who fights to keep teens safe from the evils of Harry Potter. I’m proud to report that not only did she succeed, but she managed to eliminate this pro-wiccan text-book of the occult from her entire district.

Could reading a Harry Potter book lead to demonic possession? We cannot be 100% sure, but shouldn’t we err on the side of caution? The safest thing to do is eliminate these books from our kid’s libraries.

Would you have the courage to do what Laura did? Thanks to Laura, hundreds of kids in Atlanta will be going to heaven, who might otherwise be damned because of a book. What could be more important than life after death with God and Jesus Christ? Thats the greatest gift we can give to any child.

Laura wrote in to thank Shelley the Republican, and all our readers. Your donations and prayers helped ban these evil books from Atlanta kids’ libraries. Laura is an inspiration to conservatives everywhere in the USA, simply because she was brave enough to take a stand against ultra-liberalism.

Today I’d like to introduce a new soldier in the never-ending battle against sin. Like Laura Molloy, Texas Dad Alton Vern is concerned by the texts set by his daughter’s English classes. In particular, she was asked to read ?Fahrenheit 451? by Science-fiction author, atheist and malcontent Ray Bradbury. His daughter Dianne, aged fourteen complained that she was offended by “the cussing in it and the graphic description of burning a Holy Bible.”

Why would a school board knowingly set a text which includes cussing and controversial issues? We at STR.com believe that impressionable teens should be protected from this kind of harmful material.

We askede Vern why the book should not be set as a school text: “With God’s name in vain being in there, that’s the number one reason,” said Diana’s father Alton Verm. “There’s no reason for it being read”.

We at STR.com agree 100%, why on earth would a school assign a text like Fahrenheit 451 to impressionable kids? What on God’s earth are young Americans supposed to learn from a book which suggests that kids should burn the Holy Bible? We at STR.com believe that it’s not the Bible which should be burnt, but the all the godless literature such as Fahrenheit 451 and Harry Potter!

Not only is Farenheit 419 offensive to God, it is also offensive to firemen, the brave people who defended New York on 9/11. In this book, the firemen are employed to set fire to the Bible. This is nothing short of slander! Please explain why liberals are content to keep hurting the brave people who defend America from terrorism?

If the Conroe School committee have any sense, they will remove this hellish book from their kid’s library immediately. Lets hope they use this opportunity to take a stand against literary sin.

STR Action Alert:

  • Check your local school library for unchristian books. Most churches keep a list of evil books to be avoided, however you can look out for “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, “The Catcher in the Rye” by J. D. Salinger, “Catch 22” by Josephh Heller, “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller, “Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain, “1984” and by George Orwell. All of these books are gravely offensive and should not be read… ever!

Many blue-state school libraries do not stock the “Left Behind Books” by Tim LaHaye. These thrilling stories are guaranteed to be Biblically accurate and present the reader with important moral and scriptural lessons. No wonder these are the President’s favorite books. Why on earth do we need Fahrenheit 411 when we can read the superior “Left Behind”?

  • The world abounds with great Christian literature. If your school’s library does not stock the Left Behind Series by Tim LaHaye, please inform your school’s librarian. Your church could offer to donate the complete set.
  • Finally, if you see a child or an adult reading a book which is offensive to God, interrupt them and explain that their choice of book is not mere ‘entertainment’ but a fast-track to Hell. Offer to exchange their book for a copy of the Bible. Tell the ‘reader’ about all the great stories (e.g. Noah’s Ark).

Yours in Christ,

Tristan J. Shuddery

    the path to enlightenment:

step 1: learn how to read
unless you have the bible read to you, you mastered this step, congratulations

    step 2: expand your mind
like parachutes, minds work best when open… reading alone is not enough, you need to learn how to understand what you read …you may not accept with what you read, but you need to understand it in order for your mind to expand …every book is sacred in its own right, even if its full of rubbish

Fist of all get the facts right: it’s Laura MALLORY not MOLLOY.
The dystopian novels you mention earlier do not promote the world they describe, instead they warn against it, in case you are dumb enough not to see that. They teach an important lesson and should be taught.

    Thank you Tristan,

Once again you spread light in the darkness!

Do you know the most disgusting thing about ‘Faherenheit 522′ and ‘1984′ is the way liberals regard them as containing some kind of message and teaching? Aside from the fact that they are foul, it’s just plain wrong. As every Christian must know, taking a message from any book other than the Bible (KJV) is blasphemy and idolatory. And yet liberals still try to force these screeds on our innocent children!

    Well done Laura!

By the way, I’m sure I don’t need to point out the influence of that Fahrenheit book on Michael Moore… if he’s the example of a pupil of that book I really do fear for our children.

I’m going down to WalMart now to buy some Tim LaHaye books. They sound like a right (!) riveting read.

This is just madness. Banning books is like killing flowers! Just wrong. I believe children should be allowed to read and see whatever they want. They will soon enough anyway, so why not now.

You are right Sam, many people think Farenheit and 1984 are educative books. They tell what the world SHOULDN’T be.
The main point behind most of science fiction book (except entertainment), is to show how the world may evolve from this day, and to let the reader think about it, letting him decide if it is right or wrong. Of course the STR crew can’t think without their pastor’s autorisation so I admit it’s a bit difficult to understand.

I read F451 in jr. high. I didn’t recall any noticable instances of profanity or bible burning. This article is FUD.

Huck Finn? Read that in high school, we were even given an alternative. The books use of the word “Nigger” is realistic. Many of the characters didn’t intentionally use the word in its racist context. What do you have against Twain anyways, he is one of the biggest criticizers of the French, here are a few quotes of the things MT has said:

“There is nothing lower than the human race, except the French”

“France has been mostly governed by prostitutes”

Though his views on religion aren’t what you would call “orthodox”, he’s quite conservative.

To ban books simply teaches that ignorance is bliss. Not knowing is innocence, but the refusal to at least listen to a new idea is stupidity.

If the girl had read Farenheit 451, maybe she would have seen that the city that Montag lived in was sick with oppression and completely unaware. Was his wife happy? No, she lived her life shallowly because it was all she knew. And she attempted suicide. No appreciation for her life or anyone else’s. Her friends, and everyone else, lived just as shallowly. It wasn’t solely that the city refused the citizens’ rights to read books that caused them to be this way, but do you think that maybe if they had other things to think about other than the mindless crap on TV, life would have been a little nicer? Diversity in the city was frowned upon. The girl in the beginning, who openly expressed her eccentric behavior and her differences, was killed. No one cared.
I don’t want to live in a society like that. Not that some aren’t already this way…

  24. Godless french October 26th, 2006 7:13 am

Tristan, “double plus ungood” is a term used in “1984″. The book describe a world where, thanks to education, people are brainwashed into simplistic thinking, and this is achieved by simplifying the vocabulary: in this example, all positive adjectives (nice, well, good, admirable, great, etc…) are simply replaced by “good”. Likewise, all the negatives one are “ungood”. With eventually a “plus” or a “double plus” if it’s really good or “ungood”. Therefore, as people lacks the means to express their ideas, rebellion is impossible.

Congratulations, Tristan, you just proved that you condemned a book without reading it.

Swip, why should you read a book where people burn books and, eventually, Bibles (which are nothing but books)? Because opinions are worthless if you don’t forge them yourself. All I see there is “oh my God, it’s a book where someone burn a Bible”, and I can answer “Yes, but it’s one of the bad guy who does this shameful act” (cause burning a book is shameful, even if it’s not a Bible. You should recycle it instead, it’s better for the environment), but you don’t care about my answer, it’s the fact that the Bible is burnt that shocked you, you can’t look behind that, you can’t ask yourself who did it, and why.

So let me ask: will you ban any (and I said ANY) film where someone murder anyone else (because, you know, you shalt not kill), even if it’s a bad guy doing it?

Fahrenheit 451 was about censorship, and it criticized the people that wanted books censored. Perhaps if that parent bothered to read it they would understand that. In the movie even a copy of Mein Kampf got burned….as ALL books got burned.
I’m not sure how censorship of literature became a conservative cause, but its a tad off kilter. Osama Bin Laden also wants to restrict what your read. Strange bedfellows on that subject.

I can’t believe such an ignorant screwhead such as yourself ever figured out how to use a computer. I also can’t believe this is even a discussion. As soon as you start banning books you start breeding ignorance.

Would you rather we all descended into the dark ages? Would you like it if we all practiced medicine and religeon like it was 1500? Our world is the way it is because human nature drives it to learn and press against it’s boundries. When you try to force it down by banning free thought you’ll end up destroying the very fabric of humanity.

Wake up people! The United States is founded on FREEDOM of religeon as one of it’s PILLARS! Just because a book/movie/song/artwork denounces your religeon doesn’t mean it should be banned. Every one of them is a piece of someone. It’s something on which they worked long and hard, so that they could pass on a part of themselves. Stop and appreciate that. Go to a museum, read every book you can get your hands on. Find out what you like and explore that instead of being such close minded apes.

If you don’t want to read a book, fine. Don’t. Impede my right to read what I want to read and you and I are going to have problems, because you’re fighting freedom. I fight FOR freedom.

Is this article a parody? It seems like a “christian right” blogger writing about how we should ban books with anti-brain washing messages would be satire. Basically playing off of the stereotype of mindless drones who don’t think for themselves and blindly follow authority (who clearly is misleading and simply using them, but they’ve become such mindless “sheep” that they don’t see). I hope you’re joking, but I kind of doubt it. If you hold “beliefs” that can’t stand up to any opposition at all, then that’s not real “faith.” See you in Hell.
