No problem. I have faith in our superior server technology. We are hosted on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition. Hosted on Linux the website would be down by now!

I’ve got my best people working on it. Shelley - we may have to add an extra six SQL Server .Net database back-ends to our cluster. This would be a perfect time to upgrade because we are being overwhelmed by desire for our republican campaign materials.

@Marc: If Linux were worth something they would have earned money with it. And I do not think that you as a Law student understands anything of Computers (besides giving colorful Powerpoint presentations). I am at least in the IT group of our praying team.
Actually, there is software that is not free. But most of the stuff is programmed under public licenses and therefore free. The programmers simply aren’t selfish and give their little helpers (Linux is just a collection of such) away for free..
This idea is quite logic and empricially proven is the best. Remember why we have something called economics? Because not everyone is doing everything, but trading and sharing. Every person is doing one part of the huge job! I don’t think you want to invent the wheel before driving a car, do you?
Ah, and: Before I started my studies I worked a year in the IT (mostly under Unix) and I’m an autodidact. Furthermore I don’t use Powerpoint but Adobe InDesign and to present them the Adobe Acrobat.. Free and never a single problem on any OS whatsoever ;) And: don’t use too many colors.. Mostly, it is a lack of content that has to be hidden.
Of course, I will gladly accept a contest in IT, if you proposed such - even if you pray before :)
@Marc: I am not sure, if your year in the IT qualifies you to decide if Linux is crap. Bill Gates (the boss of the beloved world market leader in IT from Redmond, i.e. Microsoft) says so and he has been in the business since 1981.

I would NEVER dare to mess my knowledge with that of Bill Gates. I admit that he will be thousands of times more senior than I am! Especially for that reason I don’t think that he ever said “Linux is crap!”.
Yet even Bill Gates’ knowledge has its boarders and looks tiny compared to that of the global community. Why would the whole Internet be built on unix, linux, bsd etc.? Why would the major part of all universities and administrations use these instead of MS’ stuff?
Conclusion: one year 100%-job in the IT does not make me wiser than Bill Gates. But 12 years of IT-experience enables me to judge whether an operation-system is crap or not. And remember, you cannot judge something, that you don’t know..
If so, please show me tools that are mighty enough to cope with grep, vi, sed or awk?
