Shakespeare: A malign influence on our children’s minds.

For years I’ve wondered why liberal school teachers and leftist university lecturers have had such a high opinion of that dreadful Limey so-called ‘poet’ William Shakespeare.

I always used to think that these pseudo-intellectual non-thinkers pretended to like the person they affectedly call the ‘bard’ to show off how ‘clever’ they are themselves. (After all, no one really understands what he’s talking about, do they? So if you claim to like him, and therefore comprehend that mad gibberish language he uses, you’re suggesting that you’ve got more brains than them that don’t. And that’s typical of liberal snobbery, left-wing one-upmanship and their continuing war against the common man!)

Now, however, Jesus has shown me a new way of understanding this bizarre phenomenon. Now I know the even sadder true truth. Liberals like Shakespeare because his mind is as degraded and perverted as theirs!

shakespeare.jpg
Shakespeare: No Christian would wear clothes like that.
I came by this truth thanks to an intervention from a Christian reader of Shelleytherepublican.com from the UK. He informed me that “I simply had to read a book called ‘Filthy Shakespeare’ ? and do something about it.

This book was the most disgusting thing that I have read.

I was horrified to learn of the filth contained within the material written by this supposed ‘genius’. And then deeply fearful ? and enraged ? when I remembered that teachers insist on teaching his sex obsessed plays and dirty little poems to our innocent children!

It’s clearly a shameful plot to corrupt their minds.

filthy-shakespeare.jpg
Filthy Shakespeare. Don’t buy this sick book.
Did you know for instance, that Shakespeare engaged in unholy man-love and that most of his sonnets (which we are told by liberals are the most beautiful poems ever written!!!) are addressed to a debauched aristocratic English gay boy, with whom Shakespeare intended to commit lewd acts?

Just read this:

And for a woman wert thou first created;
Till Nature, as she wrought thee, fell a-doting,
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
But since she prick’d thee out for women’s pleasure,
Mine be thy love and thy love’s use their treasure.

Do you know what this means? It’s almost too disgusting to explain ? and Christians are advised not to read the following section. Here’s what ‘Filthy Shakespeare’ says:

“And you were first created to be a woman, till nature [NB as well as being a sick pervert, Shakespeare here denies God too!] fell in love with you, while she was making you. And by one addition deprived me of you, by adding a [foul word for male organ deleted] which for my purpose is no-thing. On the other hand, since she kitted you out with a [foul word for male organ deleted], this one thing that nature added is for me, equivalent to a woman’s sexual regions. You can take pleasure as women do?.”

Isn’t that disgusting? Do you really feel safe knowing that this is what your children are exposed to every day that they go to public school? Should tax money be spent on filling our libraries with this filth?

Do you need to read more?

What about Hamlet then? According to liberals it’s the best play ever written. Is that because all Hamlet ever talks about is incest, debauched lust and brothels that they like it so much? (Answer: yes!)

hamlet_olivier_small.jpg
Hamlet prepares to kiss a skull. Is this a good role model for our children?
Just look at this scene. This is what liberals call ‘artistry’:

QUEEN GERTRUDE: Come hither, my dear Hamlet, sit by me.
HAMLET: No, good mother, here’s metal more attractive.
HAMLET: Lady, shall I lie in your lap?
OPHELIA: No, my lord.
HAMLET: I mean, my head upon your lap?
OPHELIA: Ay, my lord.
HAMLET: Do you think I meant country matters?
OPHELIA: I think nothing, my lord.
HAMLET: That’s a fair thought to lie between maids’ legs.
OPHELIA: What is, my lord?
HAMLET: Nothing.
OPHELIA: You are merry, my lord.

On the surface, this looks innocent enough, but in reality Hamlet is committing puns that would even make Satan blush. He actually here calls his mother a whore (is that really the example you want set to our children!), suggests to the chaste Ophelia that he’d like to put his male organ into her womanly region and then makes a disgusting joke based on the foulest swearword in the American language.

It’s shameful! And it doesn?t end there. This Filthy Shakespeare is a 300 page book filled with similar spewings from Shakespeare’s dirty mind.

Shame! Shame! Shame!

I could go on, in more detail, but I’m sure my intelligent Christian readers have seen quite enough now. What’s more, unlike the Deomc-RAT haters, we Republicans prefer to accentuate the positive and provide real solutions to real problems (ie rather than suggesting we sit in the dark to prevent non-existent global warming and other such leftist madness).

So, what can we do to counter the threat posed by Shakespeare? The first action to take is of course to write to your Congressman and demand that he ban this sick filth from our public institutions and stores. Protest schools and libraries disseminating his unnatural teachings and boycott bookstores selling his bawdy wares. If you see any copies of his plays, cast them back into the hellfire, which first inspired them.

Meanwhile, the other important thing to do is to suggest viable alternative to Shakespeare; works of genuine artistic integrity that you need not be afraid will be leading your children astray. As long-term STR.com readers may know, our own Tristan Shuddery is something of a playwright and the first thing to suggest is that his play is performed in the place of Shakespeare.

But unfortunately Tristan is far too busy fighting against the Linux threat to write plays every day and a more substantial body of work is needed. Fortunately, just such a body exists. The Left Behind series by Tim F LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins is every bit as poetic and well-written as Shakespeare (better in fact!) and, more important, it’s neither seditious nor disgusting. It’s a book every parent can feel secure about their children and which even Jesus himself might well enjoy.

leftbehind.jpg
Left Behind: Far better than Shakespeare, morally and artistically, but still Liberal colleges refuse to teach it.
On more suggestion: The Holy Bible isn’t bad either!!!!! Maybe, just maybe, children would benefit reading from that more than the works of a Limey pervert too!

Of course, liberals will start moaning about the supposed constitutional right to a separation of church and state if (heavens forbid!) children start reading about God in school. But just ignore them. They’re crazy, and mired in sin ? as their poet laureate Shakespeare proves!

God Bless You All,

Sam Johnston

I know this is a great, but god still has love with your children.

Shakespeare would be better if it was re-written in modern English. In the state that it is in it’s incomprehensable, I find it easier to understand German, and I know almost nothing of German.

I don’t remember anything from school about how filthy and disgusting Shakespeare’s stuff was. Mind you, i was too busy trying to get a glimpse of the teacher’s tits. Man, she had gorgeous tits. Her arse was good too. My mate Tony says he once looked up her skirt and saw a lovebite on her thigh. Shit, i damn near wet myself when i heard that. I tell you, she was one hot bitch.

Whinge, moan, threat, Christian, God, blah, blah, our children, blah.

    Content = Nil

Although I can’t speak for the US, believe me, they don’t teach the dirty bits in British schools and the bits they do teach are works of genius. The reason you don’t understand him is because you have the intellect of a bigoted urinal cake.

It’s the same argument in a different frilly dress. Yes, it’s terribly dangerous. That is indeed why the past 500 years have been so dreadfully harmful to humankind.

Grow a pair testicles and beat some goddam sense into yourself with them.

    just ignore them. They?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥re crazy

Lack of originality means that for once I agree. Goodbye STR. You’ve become stale.

    Trigger Happy Jim,

Are you denying that these disgusting passages exist? Are yoou denying that they are freely available for innocent children to read in our schools and libraries?

    @ Sam
Are you denying that these disgusting passages exist? Are yoou denying that they are freely available for innocent children to read in our schools and libraries?

Well.. The children must be way smarter than you ( No surprise here ) if they should be able to understand his writings…

    You say it yourself:
(After all, no one really understands what he?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s talking about, do they?

    So what?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•s the harm??

  8. TriggerHappyJim November 23rd, 2006 8:10 am

All right, I admit it. I can’t leave this website. Happy?

Are you denying that these disgusting passages exist? Are yoou denying that they are freely available for innocent children to read in our schools and libraries?

    Nope.

But an innocent child wouldn’t understand

Compared to some things we’re exposed to as children, it’s very subtle. You had to have it explained directly to you in the pages of that book before you knew.

  9. TriggerHappyJim November 23rd, 2006 8:12 am

Whoops, True Christian already said what I said. I should “look before I leap”, etc. Ah well, perhaps saying the same thing twice will mean it gets through to you.

  10. asym42 November 23rd, 2006 8:13 am

Hell, the kids aren’t that innocent. The only reason they don’t get corrupted by Shakespeare’s filth is they’re too busy scoring smack and planning the next car jacking.

Besides, if they DID get corrupted it would help improve the literacy of the grafitti the little bastards scribble on subway walls.

Shakespeare wrote in the same archaic English the King James Bible was written in so that’s a weak excuse for not understanding what he wrote! Besides, most books of his works contain footnotes! Most teens find him boring so how can he corrupt their minds anyway? As for how he dressed, that was how many Englishmen dressed back in those days! The Founding Fathers wore silk stockings & frilly collars, did that make them drag queens? I don’t think so! Banning books & authors that offend you? Why not ban Mark Twain for writing antiwar statements, criticism of organized religion & comic irreverence in general? Johnathan Swift, author of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS wrote satire!Benjamin Franklin wrote off-color material & political satire about King George which was recently compiled in a book entitled FART PROUDLY!There were even tips on choosing a mistress in that book!Charles Dickens in A CHRISTMAS CAROL portrayed Ebenezer Scrooge, a capitalist as a greedy skinflint & the ghost of Christmas past wasn’t Jesus! Some would argue ghosts aren’t even scriptural! THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS by C.S.Lewis was a story about letters exchanged between two demons! Never mind that the author was a Christian & the story portrayed human nature, ethics & morality! I’m personally offended by your choice of the LEFT BEHIND books because they’re based on the “Rapture” which was invented by a 19th Century theologion based on a loose interpretation of Biblical verses! Like those televangelists, it’s “pop” religion from “Bible bandits” who are out to make “filthy lucre” twisting the Scriptures to appeal to the “Christian” masses!

  14. Jarvis Fernley November 23rd, 2006 10:34 am

That stuff about lieing between maid’s legs is truly repulsive! This is just pornography disguised as badly written stuff nobody understands until they read it. I always knew that Shakespear guy couldn’t write very good but I didn’t know all that pornography was in there. To think they are teaching that garbage in our schools is just sickening. No wonder we have an epidemic of fornication, masturbation, incest, pregnant teenagers and grafffiti to say nothing of all those wetbacks coming across the border. Mrs. Fernley and myself will be writing our senator and our congressman first thing in the morning. Does our President know about this? I am sure he would not tolerate something like this in our great country. He may be too busy fighting our God sanctioned war in Iraq to realize that this stuff is going on. It is up to us Christians and Republicans to remind him that this trash should be banned as soon as possible. What the liberals won’t resort to to contaminate the impressionable minds of our young people. This stuff is worse that that rap garbage! I am outraged and disgusted but have faith that in time God will get us back on the right track and in a little time nobody will even remember the name of that smut peddler William Speaksper. God bless our great country and all Christians and Republicans who continue to fight the good fight against pornographers, perverts and liberals!

  15. Sam Johnston November 23rd, 2006 10:51 am

bad luck Einmaliger… children is already a plural. Back to school for you - don’t read shakespeare though! It’s filthy.

Shakespeare: No Christian would wear clothes like that.

how stupid, to judge only because of something like this!!!

and there were christians that wear that clothes!

  17. Danny Ditto November 23rd, 2006 11:36 am

Again, most teens find Shakespeare BORING so how are they going to be corrupted? Shakespeare has been taught in schools long before modern liberalism even existed! “Methinks the lady doth protest too much” & it’s “Much ado about nothing”! Situation Ethics, permissive parents,”Gangsta” rap, violent movies & video games are by far more of a a threat to youth than some old boring plays in archaic English! You need to be concerned over real threats, not a bunch of foolish nonsense about a playright most kids could care less about or understand what he said!

Dude, take a look in a mirror next to you? What do you see? An old man, with a history made of lies. An old man which tries to make himself important by calling him a doctor… is it worth it? To do such useless comments and articles like that and lie all the time? Didn’t God, or as you call him, our LORD himself tell you in his Ten Commandments ” YOU SHALL NOT LIE? ”

If you won’t stop it, I’ll curse you for being a heretic. I’m sorry, but I have to do that. It’s my promiss to god.

My ass is fine thanks Reclaimer. No signs of kicking on it at all. Discretion is the better part of valour is what Chamberlain said to Hitler in 1939 too… THJ just doesn’t want to face a blitzkrieg of put downs and wisdom inspired by Our LORD.

As for looking in the mirror, I’m not that old yet. It’s the LORD that gives me wisdom, not my years.

    Did you not read this:

    http://www.shelleytherepublican.com/2006/11/16/str-internal-interview-number-4-dr-samuel-luke-johnston.aspx

I am a doctor. And as for lying. I tell the true truth and if you don’t like it, go to hell. (By the way, you’re going to hell anyway. That’s what you get for opposing God’s will and hating America.)

I’ll remember you in my prayers reclaimer. it can’t be very nice knowing you’re supporting the axis of evil.

  29. Reclaimer November 23rd, 2006 3:57 pm

I did read this article, and I can tell you, ITS FULL OF PROOFS DOC =D !!!! Full of them. Liar.

“No signs of kicking on it at all.” Gosh… Everyone said that whose ass got kicked =)

Chamberlain? Arthur Neville Chamberlain? Uhm, yeah. You’re not a Doctor of History, are you?

Well, and IF he said that to Hitler… what does that have to do with him? Okay, fine, you kick your ass yourself. Hitler was DUMB because he didn’t show ANY discretion, sucker.

“As for looking in the mirror, I?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥m not that old yet. It?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s the LORD that gives me wisdom, not my years.”

Great Wisdom. Your wisdom is made of ” DADDY, DADDY! Kick their ass, they don’t like my wrong way of living!! “… and you’re begging like that to GOD… Gee, you’re poor. God doesn’t have anything else to do than help you, right? right.

“That?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s what you get for opposing God?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s will and hating America”

In every single sentence you say, you always mention the bible. The word “USA” or “America” or even “American” DOES NOT EXIST in the bible. IT DOESN’T EXIST, YOU MORON, WAKE UP! Fucking retard… Good, mention me in your prayiers, wish my death, tell him to kill me, I say he WONT listen to you, because I’m more christ than you, also because I DONT USE GOD FOR MY POLITICAL OPINION.

Sam, you are NOT a Doctor. If you buy your degree from a non-acredited college, you are NOT a doctor. Quit saying that. You BOUGHT a degree that is not recognized as valid anywhere outside of that school. You are insulting everyone who actually went to an acredited school and EARNED a doctorate. Once again, YOU. ARE. NOT. A. DOCTOR.

    Just a little thing:

“What about Hamlet then? According to liberals it?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s the best play ever written. Is that because all Hamlet ever talks about is incest, debauched lust and brothels that they like it so much? (Answer: yes!)”

This is a rhetorical question. By answering it yourself just after asking it:
-you suppose you have the right answer, but you don’t say why so you are arrogant, even if you DO have the right answer.
-you suppose readers aren’t smart enough to figure it yourself, therefore you insult them by supposing they are stupid.

Arrogance and insult are two pillars of STR after all, along with lies and ignorance.

And Shakespear’s pieces were meant for adults, so it’s normal that it contains sexual innuendo.

Yep - Shakespeare’s horrible. Terrible message.

As far as the prudish attitude regarding a portrayal of sex that was often included in his plays to keep the “regular” folk in the audience entertained … methinks the lady (Shelley) doth protest too much.

  35. Sam Johnston November 24th, 2006 5:15 am

I’m a liberal guy but I’m not into Shakespear. We are aware of the sexual referance in his writings but his story just doesn’t interest me that much. Just like with any other author out there people have likes and dislikes and Shakespear happen to be the one I dislike. Just so you know, you need to stop making generalization of people who oppose your view. It’s like saying Americans are fat, anybody with dark coloured skin are terrorist, current American politics is very similar to Nazis regime in 1940s…etc.

Anyway thank you for this website. Whenever I need something truly to hate I come on to this website and I get my fix. Seriously, after reading STR.com it does make me want to become part of a terrorist group.

  43. Pericles November 26th, 2006 5:24 pm

    @sam

While it’s true Polonius was portrayed as a buffoon when in public (or groups larger than 2), in private he was quite logical and well-spoken. The concept of “duality” was developed in nearly all the major characters - Hamlet played at being insane when he was clearly not. Claudius was publicly quite firm and confident, but he was an absolute nervous (haunted) wreck when in private. If you’re trying to say that because Polonius was a buffoon sometimes, his (good) advice is somehow bad, I don’t think you’re standing on firm ground when you make such a criticism.

Personally, I like some Shakespeare - dislike other Shakespeare - however I think it’s important for all of us to have a healthy respect and understanding for the work and the history. It’s especially important for all those of us who cherish freedom in the United States to understand the dire stuation that peasants lived in under the feudal system. That systemic tyranny … that individuals dealt with for hundreds of years … helped to lay the groundwork for the American and French Revolutions, believe it or not. Shakespeare is an excellent source for some perspective on the oppression that our predecessors rebelled against.

While Kings in some areas of the world - such as King Cyrus the Great in the middle east - were quite benevolent and in favor of human rights, the European royalty of the time was considerably less advanced.

Ain’t history great? (As long as you can keep the revisionists away from it.)

Pericles, I agree that some Shakespeare is good & you can learn something from it. As far as revisionist history goes, I don’t like politically correct lies but sometimes the official history is a pack of lies also! For example, the Confederate States didn’t secede from the Union mainly or solely over slavery, but over tariffs & other issues! The “Civil” war or War Between the States was actually like the Revolutionary War! Abraham Lincoln wanted to pass a Constitutional Amendment to officially institutionalize slavery before he became President! He was a white supremacist who used the slavery issue as a propaganda ploy! The Emancipation Proclamation freed no slaves in Northern slave states & had no teeth in Confederate states that hadn’t surrendered! There’s more information in the books of Thomas DiLorenzo who does op-ed pieces at http://www.lewrockwell.com There’s also the book THE SOUTH WAS RIGHT by James R.Kennedy & Walter D.Kennedy.

Simon, get back to your Brokeback Mountian marathon.

Banning Shakespeare is so amusing you should be on The Colbert Report to present it.

Vische French Guy should read Left Behind. It is a series of 12 or 13 bookis, has 4 movies out. You’d likely find them to be well-written.

    IMPEACH FRANCE’S APPLESAUCE!!!

this is stupid. you understand shakespear you have to realize he speaks mostly in iams & that it is hard to understand. but no no no, your taking this two far. shakespear wrote about romeo + juliet-is that a gay relation ship? NO! and also when hamlet called his mother a whore, it was because at the time he believed she had taken part in the killing of his father so she could marry his uncle. wouldnt you think ill things of your mother if she killed your father to marry your fathers brother? i think so.
