Urgent Prayer Request!

Friends,

Somebody that I know who is dear to all of us here at STR.com is in trouble. Kent Hovind, (known to his friends as Dr. Dino), and one of the world’s leading Intelligent Design scientists is being sentenced today after being falsely convicted in yet another travesty of justice.

Dinosaur Adventure Land

We conservatives have grown accustomed to liberal activist judges perverting justice for their own evil ends. Last year Judge Jones betrayed us all when he passed his verdict in the Dover school-book case. Shortly afterwards, our dear friend Kent was convicted of tax evasion.

U.S. District Judge Casey Rodgers will sentence the Hovinds at 9 a.m for the alleged crime of tax evasion. They claim that he and his lovely wife Jo owe the state almost one million dollars in unpaid taxes. A quick review of the case show that the federal court unfairly denied Hovind’s sensible and truthful defence: Kent owes no tax because everything he “owns” is really property of God. This is a fact that we would all do well to remember!

http://www.religionnewsblog.com/17214/kent-and-jo-hovind-to-be-sentenced-today

So please dear friends, join me in prayer this morning. Let us pray to Jesus that Kent and Jo will be allowed to continue their important ministry and continue teaching young scientists about the many flaws in Darwin’s theory of evolution.

“There were giants in the earth in those days” Gen 6:4.

?

In the meantime, we at STR.com will be organising a road-trip to Kent’s amazing Dinosaur Adventure Land, one of America’s wildest theme parks.
Priority will be given to our corporate donors.

Yours in Christ,

Tristan J. Shuddery

    hehehe…

We’re praying EXTRA hard for the Dr.

This has to be a parody.

    You guys can’t be serious.

The picture of the dinosaur was the best though. Hilarious!

  3. Dr.GH January 19th, 2007 12:49 pm

Well, Hovind(s) will do time. Particularly as the Republicans have greatly restricted a judge’s ability to be a judge. Minimum sentenceing laws that were intended to make unpopular criminals go to jail are going to bury Dr. Dino.

  4. Don Lardini January 19th, 2007 1:01 pm

You guys make the Flying Spaghetti Monster look like the bastion of credible religion.
Has Jesus just taken a thorn from the dinosaurs paw?

  5. Vash January 19th, 2007 1:11 pm

hmm.. defending criminals.. is it your new job dear STR? I think that you should be more patriotic. If someone tried to steal money to your US goverment(and US citizens, one nation under God).. he should suffer… no he should die, or not?

Tax evasion. Mkay, if they can prove it, get that guy a fine up his ass he?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•ll never forget! Oh and don?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•t blame the judge, blame the one who has done the crime.

U.S. District Judge Casey Rodgers will sentence the Hovinds at 9 a.m for the alleged crime of tax evasion. They claim that he and his lovely wife Jo owe the state almost one million dollars in unpaid taxes. A quick review of the case show that the federal court unfairly denied Hovind?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s sensible and truthful defence: Kent owes no tax because everything he ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?owns?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? is really property of God. This is a fact that we would all do well to remember!

Well, if that is the case, everyone should not be required anymore to pay taxes. Just a logical conclusion to that argument. Now let me guess what any politician on this planet will think about it:

?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?There were giants in the earth in those days?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? Gen 6:4.
The Bible verse that Darwinists can?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥t refute.

Hm, normally something called a giant would be a very tall human. Perhaps humans in a distinct part of the world growing taller than that time?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•s average.
Oh, and that dino?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•s just about to rip Jesus to bloody shreds. That?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•s what a T-Rex does to smaller beings.

PS: I?Ǭ¨?Ǭ•ll pray for him to get the highest fine/ jail sentence possible.

    Kent Hovind: 10 years!

Shelley the Republican says: We conservatives have grown accustomed to liberal activist judges perverting justice for their own evil ends. Last year Judge Jones betrayed us all when he passed his verdict in the Dover school-book case. Shortly afterward…

  8. FishyFred January 19th, 2007 6:43 pm

“and one of the world?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s leading Intelligent Design scientists”

You can’t even get his position right. Hovind is a young-earth creationist, and he would reject ID because it tries to avoid mentioning God (even though its proponents can’t keep their mouths shut and screw everything up).

  9. Greg January 19th, 2007 6:55 pm

    Let’s see…

Hovind is not an Intelligent Design scientist. He’s a wacko young Earth creationist (even some Christians I know consider him wacko; not sure of their views on evolution or creationism).

He wasn’t falsely convicted (his lawyer presented little or no defense).

Is there any evidence that this judge is liberal? Judge Jones in the Dover case is a registered Republican (Church-going too).

Does saying one’s property belongs to God make one tax exempt? If so, then no one would be any sort of taxes in the US (whether religious or not). Paperwork is required — all churches do. Hovind did not. That’s what makes him guilty. He refused to acknowledge the IRS. That made him guilty.

Everything else????? Just insane. I have to agree with the above comment; this makes the FSM look legitimate and not a parody.

  10. casey rogers January 19th, 2007 6:58 pm

Rodgers is another George W. Bush appointer. Another traitor, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Actually No, Everything belongs to me. I loaned it to God, and then he loaned it to everyone else. Just because God is deliquent in returning my stuff doesn’t mean it belongs to him.

Hovind is Anti-ID…Stuff wasn’t designed….it was spontaneously created. I can’t believe how many X-tians mix that up. They end up supporting things they don’t understand.

  15. waldteufel January 19th, 2007 7:17 pm

    10 years!

So much for the “power” of Republican prayer.

    Bwaahahaahahahahahahahahah!

  16. Kristine January 19th, 2007 7:35 pm

Hovie got 10 years. I never thought I’d say this, but Hallelujah!

P.S. Salvage your dignity and remove that mawkish picture of a biblical character petting a dinosaur–how embarrassing! Are you adults?

It’s just pathetic what people will believe.

  17. Jason January 19th, 2007 7:52 pm

The verse says “in the earth,” not “on the earth.” So, I guess the dinosaurs lived under the earth’s crust.

  18. LOLOLO January 19th, 2007 7:56 pm

Kent Hovind’s defense was the same thing Creationists have been saying for years. “God Did It.”

  19. LOLOLO January 19th, 2007 7:56 pm

    Not suprisingly, it didn’t work.

  20. JRM January 19th, 2007 8:09 pm

    “We conservatives…”

Careful with that “We,” kemo sabe.

You aren’t sounding like conservatives. You are sounding like anarchists.

We true conservatives prefer a balanced budget, low taxes, limited government and our tax protesters in jail. If you aren’t in favor of those, you are *not* a conservative.

  21. A Scientist January 19th, 2007 8:21 pm

All I can say is “Wow!”. Look, you guys can believe what you want but please don’t try to foist your nonesense on the rest of us. Intelligent Design and Creationism are *not* science. You are *not* scientists. You are not using the scientific method. You are using your faith and nothing more. Which, again, is fine for you. Just leave the rest of us out of it if you possibly can. OK? Oh, and next time Dr. Dino should “Render onto Ceaser that which is Ceaser’s”. Now where did I hear that?

  22. Goffr January 19th, 2007 8:44 pm

Ahhh, I have an issue with the picture of the dude and the dinosaur - I thought the dinosaurs were only friendly until the fall. Why is he wearing clothes? Shouldn’t he be naked and without shame?

If it was after the fall wouldn’t it eat him?

  23. Paul T. January 19th, 2007 9:52 pm

You really can’t be this ignorant! This is the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time, thanks!

  24. Cairsten January 19th, 2007 10:11 pm

    From Matthew 22:

15] Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
[16] And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
[17] Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
[18] But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
[19] Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
[20] And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
[21] They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

I gues Hovind missed that chapter in Bible study.

  25. Silly Liberal January 20th, 2007 1:51 am

Sorry, Christians get no special get-out-of-jail-free card. Tax evasion is tax evasion, no matter how “just” the cause might seem to be.

“Kent owes no tax because everything he ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?owns?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? is really property of God. This is a fact that we would all do well to remember!”

LOL!!! Okay, so nobody pays tax for anything now right? This isn’t candyland STR, this is life. Time to get real.

  26. Curtis Cameron January 20th, 2007 2:08 am

Go ahead and pray for him to get out of jail. But I’ll be praying to MY much more powerful God to keep his butt in jail! My super-duper God makes your Old Testament Bible God look like a snivelling liberal weenie in comparison!

I look forward to spending the next few years without having to hear Hovind’s lies.

  27. jean January 20th, 2007 8:09 am

For those wishing to learn more about the TRUTH of dinosaurs in the Bible, read Dr. Richard Paley’s incisive article (the source of the dinosaur and man illustration).

  28. Ric January 20th, 2007 10:28 am

Is this a joke? I laugh at Kent Hovind.

  29. Sara January 20th, 2007 11:04 am

TEN YEARS!!! WaHoo!!! Guess those Repug prayers really work, huh? Too bad he couldn’t have been jailed for his deliberate YEC lies, in addition to his attempt to steal from the US. He’d never get out of prison then.

This is a parody site, right? Like Betty Bowers’ site?

  31. Danny Ditto January 20th, 2007 8:46 pm

When Libertarian film producer Aaron Russo released his documentary,AMERICA,FROM FREEDOM TO FASCISM about the Marxist(Yes,it’s one of the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto) fraudulent income tax,STR called the film “Liberal hate speech”! Republican and Democrat statists keep defending the income tax sham when the original Constitution of the United States of America called for the federal government to collect excise tax, imposts and duties only! The income tax wasn’t properly ratified by all states to begin with and the public was conned into thinking it would only “soak the rich”! FDR saddled the general public with the tax as an alleged “temporary wartime measure”! Yet we still pay it and they take much more than they took then! If I work for my pay,it’s the IRS who’s stealing from me,if I find a lawful way to avoid(not the same as evade) paying income tax, that’s not stealing from the government! It’s my money, not theirs! I earned it,they didn’t! Pro-socialism AND social control Republicans and Democrats never seem to grasp that! @JRM, Not only anarchists but libertarians and paleoconservatives are opposed to the income tax and throwing tax protesters in jail sounds like fascism or communism, not conservatism,at least not Old Right conservatism! If I commit fraud, theft or acts of force,I go to jail! Government commits these acts and get away with it! Warfare/Welfare State Republicans and Democrats think it’s okay!

  32. Elvish In Chains January 20th, 2007 11:05 pm

I pay the Communist Manifesto concept known as the income tax simply because armed government thugs will drag me off to jail or possibly kill me if I resist going along quietly! The 16th Amendment income tax is a fraud backed up by force! As far as Jesus saying “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s”,He was being diplomatic! He would have been crucified prematurely if He had said otherwise! He didn’t actually say how much if anything was to be rendered unto Caesar or if anything was in fact Caesar’s! Socialists never understand that like they never understand that when Jesus said to help the poor,He meant charity, not welfare! Forced charity(the Welfare State)is immoral! Forced taxation of a man’s sustenance(food, property and wages) is also immoral instead of voluntary taxes on luxuries(voluntary in that you can opt not to buy luxuries)! The Warfare/Welfare State should be abolished, government should be much smaller and learn to live within its means!

  33. Robert Morane January 20th, 2007 11:29 pm

You wrote: ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?There were giants in the earth in those days?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? Gen 6:4.?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?

Actually, the Giant thing comes from the Greeks. According to what we call today Greek Mythology, there were 5 or 6 primordial gods, among whom were Gaia and her son. They had children; the first ones were monsters. Then they had the Cyclopses, and then they had giants - called Titans - that were as large as mountains.

Anyone who has studied comparative religions know for a fact that religions are based on the preceding religions that existed in the same area.

Take the flood story for instance. Zeus had had enough of Mankind’s wickedness, so he decided to make it rain for 9 nights and 9 days and kill us all. But the god who had created us learned about Zeus’s plan, and he warned his (human) son and told him that he and his wife should build a wooden boat so that they could survive the flood.

And before you go all “ah ah! So the story is true! Other religions knew it!” I’ll remind you that the flood story is not found anywhere else in the world.

And how about this: There was a man who was born of a God and of a human mother. He performed feats (miracles). He died a horrible death, and then joined his Father and became wholly divine.

That man was Heracles (hercules). What? Did you think I was talking about Jesus?

    I rest my case.

  34. ReallyEvilCanine January 21st, 2007 3:36 pm

Matt 22:21: “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s”. Looks like that “liberal activist judge” was more conservative while you guys are making excuses for a criminal.

  35. Elvish In Chains January 21st, 2007 5:13 pm

If Germans refused to pay income tax to the Nazi regime, would that have been wrong? The Founding Fathers had a revolution partly over taxation without representation and they payed a fraction in taxes to the Crown compared to what we pay now!

  36. Beth January 22nd, 2007 12:47 pm

I can’t believe people are so stupid as to believe this guy shouldn’t pay his taxes, make money off his believers, and just get rich. Didn’t God say to live like the poor and give to those in need? Who pays our soldiers, teachers, police officers, fire personal, and government workers if not by taxes?

Should those people who protect and serve, not be fed and paid? Should they not have medical benefits? That money can go to good people. Good people who teach your children, who protect your home and your country.

Yet you support a man who gets richer off believers, making false claims that he should not pay taxes, and would force our soldiers and community workers to starve?

I am glad he got convicted, my father is a fire fighter, my grandfather a solider, and they deserve to be paid and fed.

For shame, one person is not less equal to another, and we should all pay taxes for our countries well being. If you are ashamed, or will not pay your dues for freedom, move to another country.

  37. Danny Ditto January 22nd, 2007 9:37 pm

Most government functions should be done by private interests or abolished if they’re useless bureaucracies and those workers should get real jobs in the private sector! Most useless laws should be taken off the books and police along with the courts should concentrate on crimes with actual victims! Trim government waste and they wouldn’t have to keep bleeding the people dry with increasing taxes! How much more do we poor working class have to pay for “services” we don’t need while politicians line their pockets and plan to micromanage our lives? Some rich people in the private sector create businesses and hire workers! Other rich people consume goods and services which benefit businesses! Most government “make work” programs are wasteful and politicians pilfer the money! Some of the wealthy give to charity which is more efficient than the Welfare State! Some people are so obsessed with “soaking the rich” and virtually worshipping government like socialism has brainwashed them into doing that they can’t see that the rest of us get taxed to death in the process! The Leviathon police state emerges from the big government created by the Warfare/Welfare system they clamor for in their naive “do-gooder” mentality!

  38. Elvish In Chains January 22nd, 2007 10:25 pm

Along with income tax, public schools are another plank of the Communist Manifesto! Before public schools, sixth graders had a vocabulary most college graduates today couldn’t grasp! Today’s public schools produce dumbed-down Global Village idiots! They don’t learn about the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence, much less the Articles of the Confederation and think socialism and social control equals freedom! They grow up to not know the difference between peace officers and law enforcement(peace officers arrested people for commiting crimes against actual victims!)! They think citizen’s militias are domestic terrorists instead of defenders of our nation as the Founding Fathers intended! They think income tax(instead of excise taxes, tariffs, imposts and duties as the original Constitution called for) and big government is needed! They believe a Warfare/Welfare State is necessary and rights are granted by government, not Creator endowed and unalienable! I learned these truths I wasn’t taught in public schools through self-study and my own research!

  39. [...] One I can not pass up is titled “Kent Hovind: 10 Years” and is basically about the ultracrackpot Kent Hovind and his tax evasion. In itself that would be a poor example of religious-crackpot-humour and certainly not worthy of blogging. But there is this, from “Shelley The Republican,” certainly is: (this is the extract quoted on Pharyngula, I have added emphasis) We conservatives have grown accustomed to liberal activist judges perverting justice for their own evil ends. Last year Judge Jones betrayed us all when he passed his verdict in the Dover school-book case. Shortly afterwards, our dear friend Kent was convicted of tax evasion. [...]

i had an prayer answered to me that led me to find a cure for some genetic diseases, some of hovind’s scientific theory led me to that as well. I found out 2 months ago about this, I have been neglected by my wealthy father most of my life. Me and my brother are barely surviving and are both spiritually and financially lost. Our faith has been weakened by outside influences and incidences. But god has answered my prayers and led me to understanding I want to write a book about what he led me to but I need money to start, nobody believes in my dreams. Please pray for my dreams so I can help kent and learn from him. The possibility of an exciting life is there I just need supernatural support

  41. Elvish In Chains February 6th, 2007 8:43 pm

When Jesus said to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s,the common people were peasants and Caesar was the Sovereign. After the American Revolution, the Sovereign King George ruled over colonists no more. The roles were reversed and the common people became “Caesar”(sovereigns)and “Caesar”(government) became public servants! Modern government propaganda has dumbed down the public so they have become unaware of that truth! The American people have been manipulated for many years and have been ruled over by an illegitimate leviathon government that twists the Constitution around and creates legal fictions to pervert justice in order to make us vassal slaves under their thumb! As far as federal income tax being needed to pay for local police, firemen, teachers etc.those funds come from sales tax, property tax, license fees, permits and not from federal income tax. Most federal income tax money goes to pay interest on the growing National Debt, pay raises for corrupt politicians, pork barrel projects, endless Unconstitutional wars and technology for the emerging police state!

I stumbled on this site, looking for information about the Hovinds. I am so sorry that he has been jailed for not paying taxes. Seizure of property, assets, that maybe I can understand. Jail time for tax due seems unreasonable. He is a man, and I hate to see anyone one publically humiliated or disgraced. To his family, you are in my prayers. I hope you will be free soon.

Are you all out of you’re fucking minds? Who believes this garbage? Evolution has never been proven FALSE and creationism has never been PROVEN. Plus on one page it discusses the “evils” of homosexuality. Are you out of your minds? Plus I’m pretty sure Jesus was a homo….

  44. sara carter January 24th, 2008 3:57 pm

kent hovind probably did commit tax invasion. and as an american and a upstanding tax payer he needs to face punishment for it just because he’s a christian or a creationist which ever comes first doe s not deserve special treatment and neither should christian. when tax season comes around you need to pay your taxes kent hovind is a insult to upstanding tax payers.

Please pray for my son, he is loosing it, very abusive towards women, especially girlfriends. He nearly killed her over nothing. I need heavenly intervention, may he find peace in knowing that God loves him dearly, Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins to be cleansed. Just got a job after many years of struggling. I want him to less concentrate on girls but to his future and nearing himself to God. He once started but failed on the way. Please pray for him..I still need and luv him so much. He is my son.
