Being born gay, from a genetic standpoint, is not possible. First, the trait would have to be a homozygous recessive trait, since the majority of people are heterosexual. Bisexuality would be heterozygous, since there are people who can flip-flop. No offensive pun intended, I’m just awake on no coffee right now since 2pm yesterday.
There is no possible way for 2 homozygous dominant parents to donate recessive alleles, and therefore, they could not have a gay child, if homosexuality were genetic. Conversely, 2 gay parents, and this is a possibility(gay man donates sperm for money or other reason, lesbian woman gets it trying to have a kid), could not produce a heterosexual offspring.
Even a bisexual couple/trio *might* have a 50/50 chance, but that would be the only way homosexuality could be genetic.
Despite all of these impossibilities, gay couples do turn out straight children some of the time, and vice-versa. This would not be possible if homosexuality was genetic.
Based on what we know, and using the principle of Achim’s Razor (layman’s terms: the simplest answer is the correct one), we must therefore logically conclude that Homosexuality is, in fact, a choice.
