So called “Domestic Violence”and the female role in the modern American-Christian society

God made Adam, then he made Eve. He made Adam smart and strong and he made Eve his obedient helper. The roles are very clearly defined by the Bible. The man has to hunt and has to protect the family. A woman has to take care of the children and his husband as well as keep the house clean.
A women gets disciplined by her husband. Maybe she was a bitch, maybe she was a slut, maybe she did not fulfill her duties. It’s not our business to know. The husband knows and that should be good enough for us. It’s between him and her.
A good woman will always submit to the will of her husband no matter what. The notion of the so called “domestic violence” or “domestic abuse” should not even come up, because in the majority of “abuse cases” we should trust the husband to use his good judgement to despense praise as well as punishment. It is not our right to get involved.The role of a woman in our society is outlined as follows:
- Be obedient, cheerful, helpful
- Nurture the children
- Keep the household clean
- Get supplies and cook for the family
- Be a good helper to your husband and pleasure him where and whenever you can
It might seen old-fashioned to you, dear Reader, but it is what God wants from us women. If a woman fails to obey the rules above it’s the husband’s GOD GIVEN RIGHT to punish her. Liberals are quick to judge a man who beats his wife. They are often labeled as “wife beater”, but nobody really bothers to look beyond the first impression. Nobody really cares what his reason was to discipline her. I think we all agree that children have to be punished from time to time. Why should it be any different for women?
This is how unruly women ultimately end up. Either through the hand of their husband or through the hand of God. Everybody has to learn sooner or later.
You might say: You are a woman yourself, Shelley, how can you say something like that? The only response I have is that I was only once beaten by my husband Steven and it was his right for I have failed him. I had to learn the hard way that, as a woman, I had to obey authority, because if I don’t, I am likely to disobey the ultimate authority of God. It didn’t happen since and it will never happen again. His fist made sure it won’t happen again. Every woman should keep in mind: Play by the rules of the Good Book and you will be fine. Step out of line and suffer the consequences.

When I first read this, I though it was a satire, if a sick one. Now I’m not so sure. If any of you agree with this nonsense, go to Iran, Afghanistan, Saudia Arabia, Sudan etc….(and Not to Kuwait or Kurdistan) and stay there.
how about our lives are not ruled by so called christian beliefs? or other religions that preach women are wrong? how about we all deserve to be free? what is wrong with the people whe responded with religeous comments?
i am basically a prisoner after 23 yrs of marriage due to an injury. my husband just keeps getting worse about my freedoms and i feel he is not going off christianity but the age old women suck formula. sick of it and no money to get out. wait, gotta go fix dinner……

I know that there are people in this world who hate themselves beyond any rational measure but I have never seen this self-loathing manipulated into a platform from which to spurt such a warped and appalling ethos. This is typical patriarchal propaganda. A good woman will do what is right for her. A good man will respect women as equal human beings not as slaves to be pushed around. Domestic violence is a crime and should be punished as such. No one has the right to abuse others.
It is also nonsense to say that women want to be ruled by men. There are many submissive men who want a strong woman to rule them. I have met some. They are not “wimps” or weak, if fact they are often strong men. They simply prefer to submit to a woman sexually. Each person is different. Each person should be totally free to pursue their own needs as long as they hurt no one.
The attitude this article is stating is outdated and was invented by men, not God ordained, to suppress women and prevent them from achieving all they are capable of as individuals. The patriarchal cultures invented it to try and destroy the Goddess religions that existed in the cultures they conquered. These men fear the return of strong, independent, free thinking women and so they use religion to try and crush them and indoctrinate them. The original teachings of Jesus was not sexist and women were not suppressed like this. It is the male priests who came later who invented these ideas. I am surprised that there are still people pushing such outdated ideas.

This is sick. I have known many women who have been beaten by their husbands for no reason and you are saying it is right? If you can quote where in the Bible it says that a man has the right to hold a gun to his wife’s head because he is drunk and angry I will stop arguing with you. But men can be scums. Not every man that beats his wife does it to punish her for something she actually did. There are some men who will so call “punish” their wives no matter what they do to please them. No woman or child should be punished with a severe beating. There are other ways to punish without bashing someone’s face in, and you are sick and twisted to condone beating.

Also, I would like to comment on something written above where the man said a women needs to be beaten sometimes so she will lister to her man. May that man picked a woman he knew would listen to him just so he could beat her. The nice girl is probably too nice for him and he didn’t pick that one. You reap what you sow. So if your violent you will receive violence. If you need to beat a woman to listen to you then you should just be alone. In perfect love, there is no fear.
For the man that beats his wife. You can only abuse someone for so long before one day they will leave. You will be all alone and then you will realize how wrong you are.
