Hero is the week: Michael Savage (on Muzlims) : Speaking Truth to Power!
Dear Friends
During the last STR-prayer meeting we, the editors of ShelleyTheRepublican.com voted for this weeks “Hero of the Week”. It was no competition, really. Our good personal friend, radio talk show personality: Mr. Michael Savage of the Savage Nation won the title once again for his amazing rant about the muzlims book of hate!
Islam is about oppression, about hate, killing and terrorist attacks, pain, suffering, humiliation, mutilation, torture and war. They practice cruelty against children, women and animals, they rule by the sharia law which demands stoning for even minor offenses. Islam is NOT a religion of peace. That is a simple fact and it needs to be said. Period.
Thank you Michael for speaking out! Thanks for telling America the truth. You are not only STR’s favorite person but my personal hero, too.

Michael Savage along with Rush and Glenn Beck and my personal sweetheart Ann Coulter always tell it like it is. All the other commie liberal p.c.weenies in the media are afraid to call those towelheads what they are which is a bunch of cave dwelling a-holes who are still trying to live in the 15th century. Just this week we see they were calling for stoning to death some poor Limey teacher who named a teddy bear Mohammed. These people are nuts and thanks to our good friend Michael Savage for having the balls (pardon my French) to call these people what they are. Praise Jesus and Praise Michael Savage!
He strikes me as a very angry scary man… As I listened to him rant all I could picture in my mind’s eye was the guy from the picture standing in a grocery store yelling;
‘RAWR! I’m a big scary bear!’
So, uh, after all his ranting I’m left with one question; Isn’t the Bible just as bad?

-Christianity is about following without question, about hate, killing, and mass murder, pain, suffering, plagues, mutilation, torture, and war. Like, seriously, look at the Bible… is it not also a book of hatred?
“It says if you see a stranger that is not a Muslim you either convert him or kill him”
-The Bible says that if you see a stranger that is not a Christian you have to stone them in the street, murder the people of the city, then gather and burn their possessions.
“A religion that teaches convert or kill, a religion that says oppress women, kill homosexuals”
-The Bible says the same…
“They practice cruelty against children, women”
-STR has supported both of those

I think that’s how to tell the theologians apart from the ranters: what they focus on. The theologian (like the average follower) uses the text as a guide and adapts it to his/her environment and personal philosophy. The ranter (and fundamentalist) takes the text as literal interpretation and blows the more extreme excerpts out of proportion (and relevance). A simple distinction between the learned and the unlearned.
I’m reminded of WiIson Mizner:
“I respect faith, but doubt is what gets you an education.”

I think the key word here is *fundamentalist*. I know some very concerned, active Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Wiccans and Atheists who work together in my community to bring about positive social change.
I’m not so sure the rants on here would be much different if it was a fundamentalist Islamic website, or really, any other major religion. The part that makes it wrong is that it’s taken too far.
