Dear Readers

How can you live without God in your life? The short answer is: You can’t. Atheists are the best living proof. They are sad and disturbed people living sad, disturbed and short “lives”. Atheists have no moral compass therefor they have no morals, no ethics no sense of what’s right and what’s wrong.

Atheists have no chance to get into Heaven. Atheists will burn in hell for eternity.

The typical brainless Atheist. Without God in your life you can walk and walk and walk and walk and walk but you will never arrive in Heaven. Really sad.

In order to educate our readers about what the religion of Atheism is all about I want to introduce a short little series of reader comments regarding these Godless people.

Seriously, does anybody ever cry at an Atheist’s funeral?

I mean, since Atheists have no value whatsoever as human
beings (they’re not even human, but only inhuman animals),
since Atheists are nothing but miserable Liars, Cowards
and Murderers, after all, why would anybody in their
right mind weep over the dead rotting corpse, or bone
chips and ashes (that get mixed together with those of
others from the crematory) of a worthless dead Atheist?

And what epitaph do you engrave on an Atheist’s grave
marker? “Here lies the only good Atheist, which is a
dead Atheist”. What else is there say? Nothing at all.
No last words, no last rites, no flowers, no anything.

Every time an Atheist dies, the world is better off as
a result of that dead Atheist being dead, & its damned
God-forsaken soul burning in the fiery pits of Hades. :)

Which begs another related question, do Atheists cry at
funerals? If so, why? Since Atheists hate God, and they
hate Family, and they hate Country, who are they crying
for? It is true: The only good Atheist is a dead Atheist.

As for the “Atheists can’t get to heaven”, yeah, that is true. Course, the reason for that is that heaven doesn’t exist so no one can get there. It is sort of like going to Shangri-La.

And finally my life isn’t sad and pathetic. Nor if the life of the 600 milion other atheists. But, you probably are immune to rational thought so this is a waste. Look at the bright side, you aren’t a theist intellectual or theologian.

An atheist doesn’t hold his/her morales because of a divine power, but because of what he/she believes is right, meaning that an atheist has more stable morales than a religious fanatic (like you).

A few comments that are in a different direction to what has already been said -

1. Crying at funerals.
Why wouldn’t an Atheist cry at a funeral? For us, all that there is is this one life, so the loss of life is profoundly upsetting. And why should a christian cry at a funeral?? To you a christian life is eternal, infact - shouldn’t you enlist a few Atheists to bump you off, so that you can reach your god sooner?

2. The Atheist value as a human being.
Atheists dont believe in transcendence to another world, so being good to one another and leaving this world slightly better than the way it was found is the most noble pursuit for an Atheist. However for a christian, there is a devision between those that are saved and those that are not, and as this article demonstrates, the prejudice will always be toward those that believe in your faith.

3. Epitaph?
How about “i didn’t waste my time believing in a false god while closing off myself from a wealth of experience due to religious prejudice”
“I did the best that i could given my genes and environment, without blaming or thanking some higher power”
“I lived life to the fullest”

or my personal favorite:

I posted this before, but now it’s even more relevant. Who, truly, has the greater morals?

A few weeks ago I saw a blog somewhere - I forget where. Anyway, there was a post and a series of comments about whether we possess free will or not (it was around the time I wrote this poll question). The discussion centred on the thought experiment of “would you shoot an innocent person, given no extenuating circumstances”? For the vast majority of us the answer is, instantly and incontrovertibly, no. The application to the free will question then is that if you are incapable of shooting this person, perhaps you don’t actually possess the free will to actively decide to shoot them. Of course this invites the argument that, “Well, actually I could decide to shoot them, I just wouldn’t.” At which point the argument can go in circles for as long as the arguers enjoy it.

Someone raised the question, “Well if you have the free will to decide to shoot, but never actually do shoot, what’s stopping you?”

Someone answered, “God.”

“And what if God doesn’t exist?”

“Well then I guess I’d shoot the person.”

Wait a second. How does someone who believes in God and God’s moral code and is a moral person, come to the conclusion that if God did not exist then God’s rules would simply not apply and he would be able to bring himself to shoot a completely innocent person?

He’s literally saying that he’s only a moral person because God exists and lays down the law. He said, right there in black and white, that if God didn’t exist, moral laws would cease to apply and he would go around casually killing people.

Now one conclusion you could come to is that this guy is a complete nutter and should be locked up in an institution somewhere. But I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, because clearly he is not actually going around murdering people, and (because of God) he actually thinks that killing people is a bad thing to do. But the really scary thing is that this is not the first time I’ve seen such an argument. Over the years, in various places, I’ve seen many religious people make the statement in more words or less that if God wasn’t around, there’d be nothing to stop people doing any antisocial, violent, evil thing they feel like whenever the whim takes them.

I’ve never understood how religious people who are basically good can think like this. It seems clear to me that the vast majority of atheists (thus with no religious moral code) are basically moral people, extremely unlikely to swing at people with axes when the fancy takes them. If they weren’t, the world would be a seriously dreadful place. How can the people who believe this sort of thing not see that?

So this has always puzzled and disturbed me. Until a few days ago when I raised the topic in conversation with a friend of mine. And he had an explanation.

Atheists, he said, need to find a moral direction from within. We need to examine our own values and beliefs in the context of human society, put some thought into them, and behave in ways that accord with what we decide is the moral way to act. There are various expressions of moral codes that work in this context. A simple one is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” You don’t need to believe in God to think about that and decide that yes, if everyone lived by that simple maxim, the world would be a nicer place. You don’t need God to be nice to people. You don’t need God to have morals.

Strongly religious people, on the other hand, get moral direction from the authority of God. God tells them how to behave, and God is the most important thing in their lives, so there’s their moral code right there. They never have to think about their morals, because they are decreed from on high. They never have to go through a logical argument with themselves to decide that they should be nice to other people - they’re just nice to people because that’s what God says to do. If they never have to internalise their values and derive their own moral code, then it’s not even something that they realise can be done. When a person like this looks at an atheist, they don’t realise that the atheist has probably spent time (more or less consciously) to produce a moral code that they endeavour to live up to. All they see is someone without the moral code of God. They don’t realise that there are other ways in which one can be a moral person. So they conclude that the atheist has no morals.

This is why religious fundamentalists are so scared of atheists. Everyone who believes is okay, because God will keep them in line, but those atheists, they’ll probably stick a knife in you as soon as look at you. This is the problem with religious fundamentalist morals.

To me, most Christian seem to do “good” because they desires a reward in Heaven. When a Atheist does “good,” they do it because they are acting upon their own morals and ideas of right and wrong that were not set down in a two-thousand year old book.

Therefore, if there is a God, which I am inclined to beleive there isn’t, He would be more likely to grant an Atheist eternal life in Heaven because they did “good” out of the goodness of their heart, not because they expect to be rewarded or fear Hell.

And yet, as usual, you’re not supplying any arguments that suggest otherwise. And that means you either can’t think of one, or Gyro is just plain right.

Besides that, you seem to have missed Gyro’s point. He basically debunked this ridiculous article in one sentence. You basically say that God is the one and only source of morality. Therefore if He wouldn’t exist, there would be no reason at all to do good, as that comes from morality. So the reason for you fundamentalists to act ‘good’ is because a higher power says you should, not because you yourself have realised that it’s the good thing to do.

Whereas atheists and normal theists (= the ones who think for themselves and keep questioning their beliefs, beit Christianity, Islam or any other religion for that matter) act good because they have for themselves figured out a set of morals which they want to live by.

And from all that Gyro draws the only just conclusion: The reason why normal people do good deeds is infinitely more valuable than the reason why you fundies do them (which is basically just plain fear).

Do NOT assume you are better suited to be any kind of person more than I am. I lost my first girlfriend to brain cancer when she was 16. I loved that girl with all my heart and she was the kindest person you’ll ever even hear about, example: before I went out with her, she dated a girl (she was bi) and got the shit beat out of her for it, she was hospitalized. Despite the urging of me and her parents, she decided not to press charges on the students that did it. She told me that she knew they where simply ignorant of her and only judged her by the outside. THAT was what I lost. again, you need to learn not to judge poeple over the internet when you don’t know jack shit about them. That is the reason I don’t believe in religion and judging, cause despite STR’s rantings and the bible flip flopping on itself a few hundred times, there is no fucking way that God sent that girl to hell.

I went by over 6 names while I stayed there and I don’t know if she even had a vague idea of who I was when I said goodbye to her. No conscience? What the hell? I wish I didn’t have a conscience. I made a massive mistake in my life which nearly destroyed a relationship with one of my best friends and couldn’t sleep or eat properly for two weeks.

Anyway, something isn’t right because the bible says so, there is something called reason that we have whic enables us to use your brains to realise that there is a universal standard of right and wrong, which we don’t need some all loving, all knowing and all seeing god to show us (how can an all-loving God send people to hell anyway, bit a paradox there but not to worry, seeing that A) it doesn’t exist and B) if it does, I certainly don’t want to be there with people who right articles such as this one, I think I’d rather be burn’t than listen to you for eternity.)
