This is what it would be like, if the majority of people were athiests.
ATHIEST KID: Mom, I’m going to go f*ck a hooker.
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, son.
ATHIEST KID: Afterwards, I’m going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it’s “not addictive.”
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, come home soon!The athiest kid leaves the room. The father comes home from work several minutes later.
ATHIEST DAD: Hey!
ATHIEST MOM: Hi, honey! I’m pregnant again. I guess I’ll just get another abortion, since “fetuses don’t count as human life.”
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, get as many abortions as you want!
ATHIEST MOM: Oh, and don’t go in the bedroom.
ATHIEST DAD: Why not?
ATHIEST MOM: There are two gay men f*cking each other in there.
ATHIEST DAD: Why are they here?
ATHIEST MOM: I wanted to watch them do it for awhile. They just aren’t finished yet.

Well actually, an embryo isn’t a human life. When the embryo begins to look like a human and developes a nervous system (ie. feels physical pain) then it a fetus and counts as a human life.
2. ‘Okay, get as many abortions as you want!’
As Atheists stigmatise sex and sexuality to a lesser extent (read: ZERO) than christians, the practice of using contraception is much more acceptible, which negates the need for the amount of abortions that you are implying.
3. ‘black robes and hoods’
Aren’t stupid rituals a christian thing?
4. ‘a Christian is nailed to a large, wooden X’
again, you’re putting your own belief onto atheists, not presenting atheist beliefs. A Christ(ian) on a cross has significance for you, not for Atheists.
5. ‘We claim to be tolerant of all religions’
You have blurred the distinction between ‘religion’ and ‘person’ at this point. As an atheist i am tolerent of (most) persons (with obvious exceptions). I am however not tolerent of ANY religion (i am tolerent of budhists, because it does not fit in with my definition of a religion, and would fit in better as a lifestyle philosophy). All religions, particularly the big three, promote delusion and introspection of the worst kind, where they look after their own (through fear), and attempt to convert others to their ways of thinking.

If you read the definition of embryo and foetus that i gave, it’s a human life once it has a nervous system - so the way that it’s not a human life is if it doesn’t have a nervous system. Also, if you compare the image to that of a 16-17 week old foetus, you will notice a huge difference in its appearance, and at that stage you can clearly see that it’s a future human baby. To me that isn’t true of the image that you have shown. If i didn’t already know that the image was that of a 11 week old embryo i would assume that it was a primate in development - at this stage to me there appears to be no distinction between a human embryo and a primate embryo. So it doesn’t have the appearance of a human specifically, more of the general family (as human are related to primates).
Sorry, but it fails under both areas of the definition.

How about responding to some of my earlier comments? Or ANYONES comments? I’ve challenged you to answer the claims that you are making by posting something so blatantly offensive and it your responsibility as someone who is making such a claim to answer that challenge.
If you truly believed this crap, you would be fighting to defend every single point… and yet you don’t. That says one of several things:

The “moral compass” that your speaking of isn’t some divine characteristic, it’s developed in the same way that our personality traits develop, through a combination of environmental and genetic factors. We inherent a certain initial brain state from the development of our genes which is in turn affected by our environment (particularly in the early years). I can see absolutely no difference between the “moral compass” that you describe and behavioural/mental characteristics of any sentient being. The difference between other animals and humans isn’t this mythological “moral compass” but that our mental capacities are more highly elevated from the soup of consciousness.
See what i did there? I set out a thesis (ie. that there is no “moral compass”) and backed it up with an argument (that instead we have mental states), easy. Now you give it a try…

When do you hear of Aethiests launching wars against each other, we don’t launch Jihads on innocent people, or launch crusdaes on people because we want political and financial control. But just to make it clear, I have nothing against people on the basis of their religion, whether they be Muslim, Sikh or Christian, but when people start becoming fanatical (about religion or politics) that’s when problems arise and this has been proven throughout history.
@Michael Brown, I agree with most of what you say but you forgot that atheist communists invaded Eastern Europe,Afghanistan etc. during the 20th Century.Also,many of the Zionists in the Israeli government and several Zionist neocons are atheists too.Political Zionism (a racist fanatical political philosophy that hides behind a religious front and plays the victimized race card) isn’t the same as being a devout Torah believing Jew,quite a few Jews are staunchly anti-zionist and anti-war! Many wars throughout world history were religious in nature though, so atheists have waged far fewer wars historically.
@ William Milton, I apologise for not mentioning the communists in the 20th century and stand corrected, but it wasn’t my intention to portray Atheists as purely good (which would be a compltely misguided generalisation, as would to say that all people who have a faith are extremists, which is wuite evidently not the case), only that more trouble has been caused by political and religious fanatics than by atheists on the balance of history.
