Hi - the moral authority is the Pope plus Vatikan. This is their job. Oh yes - the Pope met the US president last week and the Pope told him, Make Love not War! LOL
Right now we have almost 8-9 nations who have nuclear weapons. After WW2 the US was the only nation, who had nuclear weapons. Just a couple of years later the Sovjets had the same bombs and missiles. The Russians under Putin caught up again - maybe in a new Cold War?
Seriously, but the War in Iraq is an endless story - like South Vietnam 30 years ago. This is the same confusion like we had in Vietnam with all these hidden Vietcongs. The same situation we have in Iraq now: The big question is, who is a terrorist (Holy Warrior) and who is an innocent nativ.
However, they have a lot of troubles in the Middle East since 50 years. All these peace accords in the past were senseless.

That?Ǭ¥s why it has become such a sinkhole of money.
And then there?Ǭ¥s of course Petraeus?Ǭ¥ “strategy” of appeasing the sunni militias by giving them loads of weaponry. Geee, that can?Ǭ¥t possibly backfire, could it?
And still, most Iraquis don?Ǭ¥t have running water and Baghdad is still a city under siege, with the population having to live with the fact that they could be blown to flinders any day.

However, I think the States have the strongest military power right now. But it is right, we have some nations with a strong army as well - and Russia is on the best way to become powerful again. Japan has some of the most advanced computer systems today, blows away NASA which in 06 just got rid of a bunch of early 90’s Amiga machines that kept track of many orbiters. It is also a huge economic country that the US would be in serious trouble without. Germany is in the same catagorie as Japan as well. Russia still has a good portion of the firepower as it did during the Cold War, and China has a huge army, behind the times or not the Russian army in the 40s proved that it doesn’t need to be the most advanced so long as man power is in surplus. As for me being a moron, I would gladly like to hold you to an IQ test to see who really is the moron here.

I never said Japan had a standing army, but have a powerful self defense force but no army capable of invasion of another country.
Hi Aussie - yes, the Netherlands - I remember, I was in Amsterdam in summer 1976 and there were a lot of stoners and hippies - pretty much from all over the globe. I mean, this was like a funny mainstream. Pot was something like an alternative or an other option to alcohol. And many traveled to India and Nepal for smoking.

I forgot which game, I think it’s Command and Conquer but either way, it had a kissing scene in it, well a blogger said that it had nudity and Fox’s (the well known republican channel)”professional” journalism went on after finding the blog to say it had full blown pornography. Well here’s the issue, it WASN’T there!!! :P Also republican bible thumpers came out after Virgina tech shootings and said “well of course it’s all the violent video games he’s been playing… yadda yadda”. Well if you look at the actual report, video games are mentioned 3 times, and if fact, dude didn’t even play them *at all* and his room mate specifically cited this because he thought it was so strange. And video games are actually been found to be beneficial in some cases, under 12 hours a week can not only be a stress reliever, but also video games are a social standard these days, if kids don’t play them they are considered weird or odd. If you want any proof, read Grand Theft Childhood. It’s all in there.
