Only you, O’Lord have the power to create and to destroy, only you O’Lord make and break how you want and whenever you want. You are all powerful but also filled with never-ending love. We, the true American Patriots are forever thankful and we will take care of what you have given us until your Son Jesus comes back.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost I beg you to strike down the enemies of freedom and continue to make America your every-lasting home.

Hi Shelley - I visited this link, Denver DNC 2008 “Re-create 68″, That`s an absolute scream - this is kid stuff!! Compared to the former demonstrations between 1968-1978 this is actually kid stuff!
The time was different 30-40 years ago - the people were different - the generation was different and the troubles were different too.
One of the main reasons were: WW2 plus Korea War were fresh in their mind.
And the War in Vietnam had jumped the shark. Johnson left the White House and as Nixon became president (august 1968) his first State of the Union Adress was: “The war in Vietnam will end soon and I will bring our boys back home as soon as possible!” (I remember to his speech on TV like it was yesterday)
Publicly, Nixon had promised that he would “win the peace” in Vietnam. Privately, he assured himself that he would not be the first American president to lose a war. (this was most important for him!…Kissinger was his policy adviser and he had to travel around the globe, 7 days a week, to find a solution in Vietnam)
1970 - just 2 years later: As Nixon bombed the Vietcong bases and the Ho Chi Min Trail in Cambodia, the majority of US people were outraged - cause his empty promises. (At first these bombings had to be top secret - cause Cambodia was a sovereign and neutral nation - and a lot zinged, to attack such a nation is a war crime act - but this was actually a controversial issue)
More than 500.000 GIs were stationed in South Vietnam (much more as before under Johnson) and secondly the war run out of control without success. Much more soldiers died under Nixon - the people were disgusted, especially the young generation (all over the globe). G.W.Bush’s acknowledgment that the stepped-up violence in Iraq could be compared the 1968 Tet offensive in Vietnam that there would plenty of discussion on the blogosphere.
But compared to the 60ies and 70ies - much more people supported the peace movement in the past.
1968 the real demonstrations began - in many respects. Especially the young generation was in total rebellion - worldwide!!…because:
Daily life was absolutely different in the 60ies - people (my parents, grandparents…) were much more conservative - the everyday life was “grey and drab” and all young people all over the globe decided to create a new and much more “nicer - saver - peaceful” lifestile.
We were actually in total rebellion against our teachers (against the old syllabus of instructions) - against our parents - against the establishment - against the patriarchate (young women fought against the international male dominance - working life or in schools) - against old music and painting stile -tatoos and earrings for men were beyong the pale and so on.
And actually very much changed - for instant:
Women get the same sallery as men (in all industrial nations North America, Australia, Europe, Japan)
now we have (nearby) the same wage scale for women and men
same education for women and men
same jobs for women and men
driving and flying license for women (was not as a matter of course in some nations)
men can wear colored shirts or trousers (only grey or brown suits for men in the 50ies and 60ies - I remember very very well, I was a 6 years old, before I went to school my parents dressed me just in grey or brown suits - a boy with 6!!!….I hated suits and many in my age too)
Rock and Pop music became socially acceptable
long hair or short hair or a beard - nobody cares today (in the 60ies it was pretty different)
Voting rights for all women all over the globe.
The streets, shops, houses, cars and so on are much more colorful as in the past
Now we have different troubles on earth. Demonstrations like in the 60ies and 70ies make no sense at all - we have to find a joint solution.

Hi - the idea of money is pretty old - man began to pay with cowrie shells, gemstones or wampon. The biggest money had some tribes in Melanesia - one coin was a 1 meter big round stone and too heavy to carry. (added advantage, nobody can steal it) Nowadays money is most important and a lot of people became actually greedy - and we are still hunters and gatherers, like in the stoneage or iceage - now we are hunting money.
Yes - some people actually believe, money was created by the devil - or some people (Anglican Communion)are convinced, God saves the money just for the good and hard working men.
