Sunday Prayer - Don’t mess with God’s plan!

Dear Readers: I like to share a very personal prayer with y’all.

Dear God!

As a good Christian, I know that you don’t make mistakes. Your wisdom does not have any borders. Your knowledge is endless. Please give others the strength to accept the fact that some things appear to be wrong, but are in fact right. You created the world, you founded America, you created me and you created the ugly chinamen. Everything you do, O’Lord, you do for a good reason. I know that and I want to thank you for it. I love you with all my heart.

Amen

    Good Morning Sara,
How dare you saying that God is dead? You might be dead TO God but God is very much alive.
I feel so sorry for you Sara. I am praying for you right now.
May God have mercy on your soul,
    Shelley N. Goodman

Shelley, there is no god, and though I would love to argue over it with you, you generally tend to make personal attacks and ignore anything you can’t disprove
As for this article, if it’s true, then the poor kid has my deepest sympathy for the living hell he must have endured, and possibly is still enduring, with his social/school life

“As a good Christian, I know that you don’t make mistakes.”

Like you did in the past. (Letting Adam and Eve without supervision, actually having part of your minions say “Fuck this!” and open up their own shop etc.)

    “you founded America,”

    The Founding Fathers disagree.

PS: God is dead. And we killed him.

A prime example of why Jesus said “Pray in the closet.”! Partly because He wanted idiots not to make a public spectacle of themselves with moronic prayers like this! America,CREATED by GOD (along with the rest of the world),FOUNDED by MEN! “Ugly Chinamen”? As opposed to Ugly Americans?… The “God is dead” argument reminded me of some one-liners; “God is dead.” - Nietzsche “Nietzsche is dead” - GOD “God isn’t dead,He just doesn’t want to get involved.” - Anonymous

@Proud German, As I understand the concept,God let Lucifer have free will and the whole forbidden fruit thing was also about free will and freedom of choice. As messy as that is (violence, crime, wars etc.) the alternative would be the angels and mankind as puppets on God’s strings! As an atheist, you likely don’t believe that. Fine then! As far as I care, you can think of God as Pee Wee Herman crashing His bicycle and saying,”I meant to do that.” LOL

    Sunday prayer:

Almighty Lord and your son Jesus Chirst,
who are not in the mythical Heaven,
but in the fantasy of priests, pastors, preachers,
    and many other superstitious people.

    Forgotten be your name,
    the kingdom of atheists come,
    our will be done,
both here and around the world.

    Eliminate all religions,
    demolish all churches,
and deliver us from popes, bishops, televangelists,
and the rest of charlatans and bloodsuckers.

For the kingdom, the power and the glory,
are not yours, neither now nor never.

    Amen.

Hi - “Jesus founded America”…at first I was wondering as well, but I remember, STR wrote that many times in their articles. Who claimed this sentence the first time? It seems to me, this saying must be very old! The first people, who said, Jesus found America” belonged to the first settlers in North America. As the first christian communities immigrated to the young States (or New England) 2-300 years ago, it was a big risk to cross the ocean in a small wooden sailship and they needed almost 2 months to pass and sometimes ships disappeared too. Most of these Christian communities had to flee to the States, like the Quakers, Baptists, Lutherans, Mennonites…..they just had the Bible and their faith. Their faith had to be strong, cause there were a lot of dangers, especially during the first periode, which was between 1650 - 1800. The trust in Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible had to be strong and I think, at that time, someone was the first who said: “Jesus found America for us”.
Our verbal family history and my ggg-uncle`s diary says - He immigrated to New England 1760 and their life was very hard and difficult - child mortality was very high - had not enough medicine - many people died young and criminal gangs + natives threatened the early pioneers and settlers. The Bible and Jesus Christ was something like a “life-insurance” or source for power. At that time they created this saying: Jesus found America for us.
It is well known, the Bible tradition is still very strong in the States - this tradition goes back to the first settlers.

There are two types of people I find annoying. One is the dogmatic fundamentalist who loves the idea of a theocracy and hates the idea of freedom of religion! He wants only his brand of religion to exist! The other is the dogmatic atheist who hates freedom of religion and wants no one to be allowed to believe in any God!And he believes those people should be institutionalized! And he insists on regularly mocking anyone who even believes there might be a higher power! Camille Paglia is an atheist but she doesn’t show disrespect to believers! Freedom of religion is part of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America! Intolerance of religious freedom was official policy in the Soviet Union where atheism was part of the communist system (The State is God,God is the State.)! Those with “unapproved” beliefs or ideas were sent to mental hospitals or re-education camps! Liberty is where no one is persecuted for their beliefs (or lack thereof) and they’re free to believe as they wish but they can’t use force to try to make others believe the same way! Some religious people believe absurd things but so do some atheists! Politicians’lies, government agencies’ propaganda, media disinformation, junk science, lies and half-truths of various agenda driven “experts” and flawed philosophies! Most people, religious or non-religious,believe at least a few things that just aren’t true! Before you criticize someone’s “superstition”,better examine thoroughly what things you “know” to be the truth!

@sara carter, According to Biblical accounts,Jesus died on the cross but was resurrected and ascended up to Heaven. In other words,He died but didn’t stay dead! But you’re right about there being no accounts of Jesus literally founding America.

    1. Don´t take me that seriously. I´m just pointing out some flaws as to piss off the fundies. ;)

    2. I´m an agnostic. Simple fact is that we simply don´t know wether something like god does or does not exist.

Really, I don´t mind the mainstream christians, muslims, hindus, wahtever. It´s just the fundamentalists that I really can´t stand. Religious extremism is never a good thing.
