Another great thing about Alaska
I think God fearing Republicans will understand me when I say that one of the wonderful things about Alaska is that it is so pure and white - so undarkened by hypocrisy and black values that are foreign to America. You won’t get no watermelon smilers grinning their way through the Democratic convention coming from Alaska.
Plus it’s rich! As God wills it.
But! Now I’m starting to think me that there’s more good coming out of Alaska than oil. God wants the gasline and he wants Sarah Palin to ‘gas’ to that great war hero John McCain in the White House.
In case you’re worrying like our good friend BBN that Sarah Palin is too tainted by the curse of Eve and don’t do God’s work just listen to this uplifting speech. How wonderful that she sees the will of God in everything. Especially our holy mission to crush the sand niggers in Iraq!

That´s it, Sarah Palin has just disqulified herself from holding *any* important govenrmental postition and she made herself (and thus McCain) unelectable towards any mainstream american.
That´s it, the campaign´s over. With stuff like this, McCain being caught red-handed committing adultery could not cause more damage.

I may not 100% agree with Billy about Sarah Palin. It’s true that her daughter is an unruly slut, but Sarah did the right thing. She made her marry the father of her bastard-child. That at least makes it all-right with Jesus.
I agree, here preaching is simply electrifying. Can you imagine having somebody in the White-House who is willing to put God first in all of her policies?
That is surely what we Conservatives want!

There is no need to worry about violating the Bible. Todd Palin sits in at the governor’s meetings (Hippies may protest, but who cares?). Sarah Palin will not be exercising her own authority over the country; she is nothing more than a PR for Todd. So, women shall still remain in silence, as the Bible says. Of course, we must pray for McCain’s death for our plans to take hold.

As I’ve been saying for months, I have the utmost confidence in Obama, but I have zero confidence in the American voter. They are collectively a pack of mindless idiots, despite the smarter standouts in their midst.
This election will be determined by the question of whether peoples’ fatigue with 8 years of Bush misrule is greater than the combined sum of their bigotry, because that’s the core appeal of the McCain-Palin ticket: “We hate the same people you do”. It’s not about building anything or accomplishing anything or improving anything; it’s about them promising that they will hate the same people and things that “real Americans” do, and that they will do everything in their power to harm those people and things.
It’s all about the hatred: their policy on sex education is based on their hatred of promiscuous people and their desire to punish them for their pleasure by keeping them ignorant of birth control so that they will get pregnant. Their policy on abortion is based on the exact same hatred, and the exact same goal: forcing sexually promiscuous people to have children. Their foreign policy is based on showing the American people how much they hate the enemy, whoever he may be this week. Maybe the towelheads, maybe the Russkies, maybe the gooks, who knows? Whoever it is, they’ll promise to hate them more than the Democrats will. And what about crime? Same thing: they promise to hate the criminal more than the Democrat will. Who cares whether their policies will actually solve anything, or whether they might even make things worse? They’re based on hatred of criminals, and that’s what really matters: that they hate the same things we do. And then there’s the economy, and guess what: that’s a hate-based policy too. Their entire economic policy is about making sure that “undeserving” poor are not permitted to live in any state better than what they deserve, which is misery. Sure, not all of them are welfare bums and cheats, but some of them are, and we need to punish those people, because we hate them.

The election will be worthwhile watching - from a far distance …
On the one hand there is Obama, loved by the Europeans, but probably not any more once he is elected: He is having efficient plans for the US economy, which will hurt the Europeans badly but might save the US. At the same time he is not an easy victim for harassment, since he is basically what all Europe intellectuals wished for for the US: A brainy politician instead of a dumb warlord. For many the intellectuals in USA it’s also a difficult choice: Nominating a black guy to SERIOUSLY demonstrate tolerance, OK, … but actually VOTE him?!?
The republicans are fishing in two swarms. The Bush-opponents voting for McCain, hoping he will follow up on his promises and bring a wind of change, and the right-right-wing Bush-fan-boys hoping for an early heart attack and the first female Mullah in the world to take over.
I’m off to get some popcorn …
Ixion - Don`t worry - there are no more hippies in the States, the good old days are over. But I still remember well to the late 60ies and early 70ies, as thousends of longhaired brothers and sisters stood up to demonstrate against this bloody war in Vietnam. Even hundret thousends stood up and shouted - at first all students and hippies - later parents and even grannies. After TET 1968 over 40.000 boys died in the rainforests, this was too much for the public opinion. And 1970 Nixon bombed Cambodia and this provoked an unbelieveable outcry all over the globe. These times are no more - the hippie-movement disappeared - and I stopped my hippietrail as well in the late 70ies. This huge and worldwide antiwar- and hippie movement was beyond comparison!

Achsis of Elvis - yes, there are actually a lot of Europeans, who would like to see Obama as the next US president (not only Europeans). And you are right, he has the mind and the good education to find new possibilities to bring the US in a better economic position. Don`t forget China - it is a huge country, a huge market - they still work cheap - brake into new markets in Africa and South America - and get their oil cheaper. The States and Europe will be the loosers. And don`t forget the new face of Russia - it became powerful again under Putin. They still have their nuclear weapons from the Cold War and a lot of new missiles as well. Many US people like to underestimitate many nations - this is a big problem in the States. Be honestly, you lost the war in Vietnam and Laos, and we cannot talk about victory in Iraq - this is no victory - these natives can`t live in peace, GIs still die in the streets of Bagdad or in the sand - everyday they have terror bombings all over Iraq and Aghanistan. Please tell me, what kind of Victory is that?
